Yes, there are three options for the pickup, each a slightly different size. As @ElCrowg said above the dimensions are on the website for all the options..
It does add up: 225 for the pup, whatever your tech charges for routing (unless you do it yourself), i got a pickguard without a pickup hole from Precision Guitar via Reverb for 54, plus more routing... A drop in pup is a lot less. I'm sure I'll never recoup that if I go to resell it. I do like the pup a lot more than any drop in I've heard though.

I am actually thinking about the EMG 35HZ pickup because I believe that is quite similar to the one in the Squier Mikey Way Mustang, which I had a chance to test in a local shop about four or five years ago.
I liked the tone and the bass, but then I did not buy it and it was gone.
At this point I will take into consideration the Serek as well if I will get a Squier CV Mustang.
There are tons of interesting options. Stonewall pickups does a Wide Range Humbucker for bass that was also on my list of possibilities.

I’m going for a Thunderbird neck with coil tap and a Rick inspired bridge pickup
Neck: Degenerate thunderbird bass pickup, dual tones, hot jazz and humbucker
Bridge: Surfrider alnico 5 bass pickup, classic Ric tone for standard spaced basses
Should be a lot of fun. I’ve already had the controls changed to balance and tone (no master vol).

My new bass. I was lucky enough to find a JMJ loaded pickguard on Ebay. I bought a Squier CV a few days later, installed the JMJ stuff on it and strung the instrument with LaBella flats. Very pleased with the results! It’s very comfortable to play and sounds great.
Congrats! Looks great! The JMJ pickups are hot- I've found I have to bring my levels down on it 25% or so to match my J bass when I go back and forth. That said- it's a great sound!

Love this pickup! I have mine routed in the bridge area. Anyone looking for a changeup with their Mustang pickup(s) should check them out.

unfortunately not atm. I got the idea from sound clips/video reviews on some Serek basses with the same/similar pickup configurations though
Definitely that one, too! More than likely where the wheels started turning for me haha. I did go with a Curtis Novak BS-DS (with coil tap) in the neck for mine - but pretty much the same thing.
Rad. Do you feel like you get a pretty similar sound to that?
I've been toying with the idea of modding mine (I love to make instruments unique to me) further, but I sort of wish I could just drop a Serek b90 in the bridge and keep the JMJ mustang pickup in too, but it seems like because of the way the mustang pickups are wired, one half of the JMJ pickup would always be out of phase with the bridge pickup so I've been hesitating...
Oh- also, if you don't mind: what's the spacing of the novak you dropped in? 17 or 15.7?

I went with the single LZN B90 in mine in pretty much the same position as the stock pups. It is in my tech's hands right now, making a new pickguard for me. The photo before the new pickguard is at #5261. I was hoping he'd be finished with it before my rehearsal this evening or my Saturday gig. Today is past but we'll see about Saturday. I live in hope.
Having the pup be humbucking was important to me as I've had some issues in the past in venues where my single coils picked up all sorts of weird things. And, I wanted that pup in the stock mustang spot. That plus cash kept me from the dual pickup set-up you have although it sounds just killer in Xavier Zolli's videos. Your's looks killer, especially with the slider switches. What do they all do?
Pickup on/off for both neck and bridge and the last switch (closet to the bridge) is a coil tap for the BS-DS.
I love the look of your Mustang! Part of me wanted to do double B90 as well. The B90 in the Mustang spot seems like the sweet spot! I use the B90 the most while the BS-DS is more specific and material oriented/dependent - it adds a nice bit of variance in the back pocket when needed.
This is my JMJ CIJ Japexican Mexanese Frankenstang parts bass. CIJ body with a JMJ neck. JMJ SD Custom Shop pickups and pickguard. Added a little extra relic to the guard with some brown shellac. About to swap the pick guard for a red one to try out that 1966 look. Put this together over the past few months. Absolutely love playing this thing
I finally had some time to play today. I positively love this pickup. I dont know how much is just the pickup vs. how placement impacts it, but it is a beast and responds beautifully to the tone control.
