Got these Novak gold foils installed in my mustang. They sound fantastic.

Very phat sound. I had them wired in series with a push pull tone pot to put them in parallel.

Planning to use this for reggae.

Oh cool! That's an interesting set up. How's the set up go for switching between? do you have a 5 way switch or is it either the the p pickup or both gold foils?

Any drop in tuners for CIJ mustang bass? Mine is already bugging me, I disassembled and also cleaned it and applied a small amount of lube on the gears and the shaft, but its very rough when using the G and A tuners. I checked if it was scraping the wood or something but it is not. Just very rough to turn. The D and E are fine, not too bad. Doesnt have to be light weight tuners too. Thanks.

Hipshot has the HB10.HB10 Bass Tuning Machine

Called the "American Classic" , but designed for CIJ Fenders...(marketing - :rollno: )
And stupid expensive. I've never used HB10s, but I've had the "sister" HB7s (for MIMs) on several basses, and they are REALLY nice, but not particularly light.

Wow those are pricey for non light tuners. Any chance there are Gotoh equiavalents? There has to be right lol

Upon checking the link, it seems its a replacement for the Gotoh GB1, wonder if that will fit. Time to research.

update: FWIW, the LaBella MUS flatwound strings made a huge difference. Highly recommended.
I am struggling in the sea of different sku's for these? Do you have a link? I am assuming these would work for a 2021 American Perform Mustang string through? Thanks!

**edit I think it's these after actually clicking through their site:

Hello! I already have a 34” scale J, P and PJ at home but now I regret selling the old Squier VM Jaguar SS. I want to try a short scale bass again after a few years, just to have fun with it and the different tone compared to standard scale basses.

I’m still undecided between Squier Mustang CV 60 and Fender Player Mustang PJ. The first one seems a decent bass for the money, but it requires medium scale strings only and my sweaty hands probably don’t go well with a gloss neck.

Vintera, JMJ and AM Performer have a 41.3 mm nut width which is a “No” for me.

Does anyone know if a Squier Mustang neck will fit in a Fender Mustang Player body? Thanks.

@2cooltoolz I feel like this would be something you have tried based off of your previous part-stangs?
I've done it the other way, basically. For a very short time I had a JMJ neck in a Squier Mustang body. Same neck had previously been in a Player PJ body and a Vintera body. Bolt up and easy set up.
These were all recent parts. Not sure about older parts.
