Anyone know where to get shorter saddle height screws for a Vintera Mustang Bass? I want the screws to be sunk into the saddles instead of sticking up (so that nothing digs into my hand when palm muting.)

I got me an other Squier Mustang. I bought it of an 86 yr old guy who cannot play any longer due to Parkinsons disease. Really sad.
I will keep the round wounds on it as opposed to the LaBella flats on my white one. As with the white Mustang I will have the electronics upgraded and put in a Nordstrand pu.

Vintera 60's Mustangs are down to $735 right now while Fender clear outs Vintera I stock, I'm really tempted to get one since I heard they're going back to RW in Vintera II and I prefer Pau Ferro.

Posted this in it's own "Basses" thread, but thought Mustang guys might be interested:

Not sure who's doorstep this should land on. I recently put together a JMJ/Vintera Mustang build. The only way I could find JMJ pickups was from Stratosphere, in a loaded pickguard assembly. Too expensive, but I kinda dig the nicotine white pearl PG.
I assembled the bass a couple months ago, but didn't bond immediately. An ergonomics thing. But I have been playing it a bit lately, and couldn't get the pickup height dialed in. So I pulled the PG, and voila(!) it's missing a pickup spring. Ordered a set from Tone Kraft, for pennies, and they came in yesterday. Upon disassembly, I found this:

The spring was installed inside the cover. The pickup was moving, undetectable from the top, but the cover was staying in place!

I'm not sure whether to blame Fender or Stratosphere for this, though obviously it's a small annoyance and I'm not going to pursue it. Fault lies ultimately on me for not doing a complete inspection. (And I'm a retired QC guy----in another field).

Absolutely "to each his own", but I actually assembled my own, based on a Vintera body, because I'm not a fan of pau ferro. Plus, I don't love the vintage correct 7.25" fretboard radius.

I actually was going to go with the Player maple neck on my Vintera, but that has a 1.5" nut.

Maybe I need to work on my flexibility issues!

I used a 3 way rotary, with stack volume/volume. I prefer a switch, because the pickups can be truly isolated.

Well, I've installed the rotary switch. I think it's a keeper. Not as easy to select quickly, but I hardly ever switch mid-song anyway and if I do, it's generally trying to fine tune my sound to fit the moment, which I can pick a time for. I haven't settled on a knob yet. This one, I had in the "parts box"; it's the bottom half of an active "P" stacked knob. The set screw is my position marker. Not sure what would look better.

Looks like the Honeyburst American Performer is on sale right now (1200 versus 1400 usual). I'm tempted especially after I missed Fender's accident super sale on the 60's Vintera's earlier this week!

Decided my #1 needed a small accessorizing adjustment... just added a small vinyl decal. Ordered it from ebay and because of the low price, figured if it looked cheap I would just trash it. But once it arrived I was pleasantly surprised.
