It looks like the one on Sandberg basses to me.
Also, with the Aubergine, is it more of a candy apple or candy cola red, or more of an eggplant purple? I've seen numerous pictures online and it looks anywhere in between dark maroon to purple. Here, it looks similar to the old candy cola.

I had the Aubergine at one point as well - it's a darker more maroon red with a sparkle to it - it pops under lights at a show, but looks pretty dark in most settings IMO.
Yep. It’s a Hipshot. Though there are others as well my sire came with a three string.
Retainer for three strings really helps the A string. Now that I’m used to it, it’s one of the first changes on every bass.
It’s more red. Darkish and leans a bit toward brown/orange rather than purple, if that makes any sense. Very light dependent also. I like it.

The Fenders are basically Gotoh-designed and maybe manufactured. I have a number of MIJ basses that i swapped out the tuners for HB10's because the Gotoh's have a pretty low turn ratio. The ones removed are in great shape, and I can send you a set for the cost of postage. I also have a spare set of HB10s that I bought for a project and can't use now. I can let them go for a reasonable price.

Had a porch front block party gig the other day. Pretty fun set up for informal jams. The JMJ brought the thunder for the last time before the refinish plans go into effect.
I recently acquired a Vintera Mustang in Seafoam Green, which is fantastic. I really like the neck, although I’m getting used to the gloss. It came strung with the LaBella Mustang flats. I’m not usually a flats player, I like the feel and sound of roundwounds, but figured since a lot on this thread liked them that I should try. After a couple of weeks, I was not gel-ing with the bass and didn’t like the tones. So after perusing this thread, I ordered a set of GHS Balanced Nickels for short scale. these just BARELY fit. They silks start about 3 mm behind the nut, so this string change is not for the faint of heart. But, oh baby, how this thing sings now. THIS is the tone I wanted from this little pony. I’m sure it will get sweeter as the strings mellow out. So if you’re considering the Balanced Nickel short scale set, rest assured that they do fit. Barely. But they fit. Get your funky roundwound sound going.
Also, the pickup heights are a little smaller (shorter distance between strings and pickup) than I’m used to, but this Vintera has tons of low end and the mid-growl is super sweet. Plays so nicely with the distortion pedals I’ve tried so far (Scrambler, MBD-1, Black Mass 1312). It’s so much fun to play!

great strings and they have a great tension feel to them too!
