Well, a Mustang P would work too, but I meant to write...

Dear Fender, please do a special run of Mustang P

I love my Mustang PJ and would really like to see a 30" P Bass. I know they released a P Bass Junior a number of years ago, but it had a 28.xx" scale length and a 3/4 size body and no tone knob. I'd like a 30"-30.5" scale with a standard body size. Since I'm just dreaming, I'll add a maple fretboard to that.
Although Fender don’t do one, others do: check out Manton(32”) and Maruszczyk (30, 32 and 34)I love my Mustang PJ and would really like to see a 30" P Bass. I spotted another red Mustang at the local music store today. I worked out a straight trade for my EBMM Sterling. Walked out with my third CIJ Mustang no cash out of pocket.

They're like Glocks. You can't just have one.![]()
Forgive me if this has been previously discussed (I'm sure it has), but are there any rumblings about Fender doing the JMJ mustang in different finishes at some point?

Do like the grain on that fingerboardThe Sonic Blue Mustang PJ's are nearly white. I had to put one next to an Olympic White one to be sure of the difference. The Sonic Blue ones are a ghostly, cool white as opposed to the warmer Olympic White.
Here's my Sonic Blue Mustang PJ with Pau Ferro fretboard:

Can I join?
I just got this one on Reverb for a couple hundred. I woulda preferred something a little more refined, but it seems like all Mustangs other than the Offset Series are costing what for me is big bucks lately, even Squiers. I didn't want the J-Bass pickup (or a hole where one would be). View attachment 3072104
If one were to convert a PJ Mustang to a more classic configuration without the J pickup, how close would a classic Mustang bridgeplate cover the J route?
Maybe there's an opportunity here for someone to make conversion kits with a Mustang pickup, pickguard, and a bridgeplate designed to cover the J route...
Can you give us a measurement of where the J is ? (inches from center of pickup to 12th fret will do) When I get home I can check vs my standard mustang's bridges for you.
I doubt it will be enough as is though.

Is it ash by chance?
