Have you witnessed the E string at the nut and saddle ?
I don't know what that means.

I don't know what that means.![]()
Played a jazz gig (keys, guitar, flugelhorn, drums, Mustang) last night at a spectacular estate on Lummi Island here in Northwest corner of corner of the USA, beautiful cool weather, great eats (Dungeness crab, steak, etc... "feed the band first!" etc... heaven), and thought I'd post proof I actually play this gorgeous beastie...

Sorry, no action shots... just couldn't bring myself to trust my phone to the lawyers we were entertaining.
The Tangerine Dream Mustang is wonderful. Band dug the sound outdoors through my MarkBass 102P (all the presence I needed in a large open area at 1/3 gain & vol), really liked the Mustang's ability to change tone from one tune to another when necessary with just a touch of the pup blend knob and separate tone control. The Lindy Fralin pup set is killer, at least to my aging ear. Beef when needed, edge when needed, sweet voice in the upper ranges for solos when required. No hand pain after 3 hours....
It's a keeper.

She's done. Colors don't match perfectly, but obviously inspired by my car. 1/4 pounder, chromes, new switch, and shielding, oh, and a 5.7 Hemi.

The PJ will now become the travel bass. The case is completely unblemished. I think the bass might be NOS. Basscat inspected and approved. I found a friend for my PJ. CIJ RI 2008-2010. I've been wanting one for awhile. The PJ will now become the travel bass. The case is completely unblemished. I think the bass might be NOS. Basscat inspected and approved.

Has anyone upgraded the stock tuners on their PJ Mustang and weighed them ?
I'm trying to determine how much weight I will save switching to hipshot ultralights.

Pardon my glare! 2011 Squier Vintage Modified Mustang. Entirely stock with no immediate intent to modify. I love this. It's the right bass for me right now. It has has a really great neck - just a little deeper than you'd think without being too fat.
I wish I bought one of these when they were still available. Hard as hell to find used.
I think I saw you mention that. Went directly to Reverb...no luck.I saw it on Reverb for $200 and jumped on it. Could have been awful (but the comparatively cheap kind of awful), but it was great. It needs a little work on some mild fret sprout, but I'm having too much fun with it to bring it in.
I'm pretty sure one of the club members here did that, but I don't remember if he weighed anything... Club member SoulReflection talks about it on post #603...
