Does anyone have comments/experience with the bridge (Jazz) pup?

Is it noticeably quieter and in need of change compared to the neck (P) pup and if so, to what?

Only asking because I have one coming and want to know what to expect (order).

Thanks in advance...

I love my Mustangs. Started with the P/J and then I got the MIJ reissue. The reissue is the first bass I’ve ever had flats on too.

2007 or thereabouts. I knew nothing about bass strings back then, only that I had to use pliars to cut down the ones I bought!

That Bronco was jynxed. Every time I picked it up something else had gone wrong with it. One pickguard screw was driven into a half screw-hole drilled into the wall of the control cavity... very poor QC.

That PJ Mustang looks great, but I don't recognise the colour. Is that a WD Music pickguard?

there were short scale strings then, but even now you rarely see them in store at guitar center.

sorry to hear your bronco had problems. mine was great, absolutely perfect, and the guy who bought it from me was a very happy camper. i was actually sorry i wold it.

I didn't know what I was looking for, if that makes sense. I didn't know it was something I would even have to research. I wasn't on the Internet much, so had to make do with whatever strings I could source locally. In rural Scotland that isn't a lot of choice! The Bronco ran on factory roundwounds until I killed them trying to clean them up with diluted bleach (again, I didn't know better!).

My PJ Mustang reminds me enough of my Bronco that I don't feel the need to get another. However the Bronco seems like an ideal modding platform.

it makes perfect sense. i didn't there was such a thing as different nut widths or adjusting the action on a bass or guitar, so i stopped playing guitar for years as it wasn't comfortable for me. then i discovered that there were guitars with wider nuts, and got back to playing, and enthusiastically back to playing after discovering you could have lower action. i never looked it up because... well... it never occurred to me.

i believe the bronco is lighter-weight, though, and it does seem like a great modding bass!
