Fender Nate Mendel P-Bass

No music store for hundreds of miles.
It seems that not many Nate Mendels are in the wild yet. Anybody else owning this bass already? If so, are you happy with it?
I was just looking at the pictures on Musician's Friend and American Musical Supply, and noticed the headstock decal isn't the same as the one pictured on the Fender page or at the beginning of this thread. The MF picture's headstock decal isn't even close to being 70s style. That would be a deal breaker for me, unless it's a mistake of some sort.
Saw Nate with the Sound City Players on Letterman last night. Alas, I think he was playing either a Highway 1 or a Lakland. Not the Nate Mendel signature Fender.
Because Nate has been playing only a few basses, all of them Precisions of one type or another: his original 70's P-Bass, the new signature model (likely the Custom Shop prototype), a Fender Highway 1 Precision, and a Lakland Precision.
It's a process of elimination, since his signature model and the bass it was modeled on are both red.
He was playing the Nate Sig. model. They just made him one in white.
Nate can get any color he wants.
they bumped back the release date AGAIN. it was December, then January, February 11, March 19, now April 22.
Beautiful bass, although I would never in a gazillion years buy anything with Nate freaking Mendel's name attached to it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nate_Mendel#Connection_to_AIDS_denialist_movement
