Fender neck made in Mexico or US ?

I just got off the phone with Fender. Thay apologized to me and said that the photo is Correct, but the Description is wrong... the necks are made in Mexico and they still have them for sale. I told her if they were made in the corona factory I would buy all that she had...she laughed...and said that if they were were made in CA.they would be like $500 each

.. I beat them to it, three years ago I made my own from a neck with a damaged headstock … exact same specs … from here on out I think I will call it my 'Butterfly Bass' ...

I guess my other thought is this - Suppose the necks WERE Corona CA manufacture. What would the repeatable sell price be on such necks in the secondary market? I can go to Warmoth, USACG, or Musicraft and get a REALLY nice comparable neck for around $400 retail. I honestly wouldn't buy one of these necks for $300 if it WAS US made. Not sure what angle the OP had in mind. I don't know where the profit would be.

I have and I can't spell it right, but I have a MIM fender okumeo are something and i had American, and I wouldn't take nothing for my MIM bass. I was told Fender sent the USA parts down there and they just assemble them. I hate it because they quit making the MIM basses, they were a great bass for the money. They say an American bass about the same money but its not true they cost a little more. But know i would not be afraid of an Mexican neck.

California and Mexico are pretty much the same thing anyway

Agreed. And probably more than pretty much. Let's see....... CNC router in Ensenada, Mexico; Check. CNC router in Corona, Ca; Check. Materials purchased and provided by Fender; Check. Fender employee to push the button; Check. Not sure about anyone else, but to me, the sum of that equation = same neck.
