Fender Parallel Universe '51 Telecaster PJ Bass

I play in a ZZTop Tribute and the 50's CV is my #1. I have a 2nd 50's CV neck on a parts Bass I put together, Both have the SD Custom Shop Stinger Stack in them that Dusty Uses. It's amazing and sounds more like a Hot Split Coil than a single coil. I also have 2 Squier Cabronitas and 2 Squier Mike Dirnt's. All are fantastic Basses.
I the last 2 years I've developed an obsession with Schecters. I have a dUg Pinnick Baron H, 2 Michael Anthony's and 4 Older Model-T's I've rounded up.
I really need to thin my herd but, they all are dialed in and play so well, it's hard to decide what to let go.

I believe that Fender is banking on anticipated high demand with that price. Sometimes you charge what you think you can get and not what it's worth, right? Regardless, I truly like the bass. I'd never pay that much for it.

Here's my Model T Session at 1/3 the cost. It plays extremely well.

Never been into the '51 style pickguard. Cabronita style works better for Tele basses imho

Yes it has both contours. It's a Squier Classic Vibe 50's P-Bass. I guess they should have named it a Squier Classic Vibe Late 50's P-Bass. I wish it was a Slab. I can't complain, I got it 3 years ago as New Old stock for $300.00 and it plays fantastic.

That Limited Edition Tele/P is pretty cool. I like the truss rod adjustment at the headstock and arm contour.
I wish it came in black. Oh well... Guess I'll keep playing my Squier Dirnt/CV 50s mashup (which is a really great bass, a replacement would have to be really special to take this one out).

Did yo have to drill new screw holes in the neck to bolt it on the M.D. body ?

I have 2 Squier 50's CV's, 1 complete & 1 neck in a Slab body I got of Ebay. I have 2 Squier M.D's & 2 Squier Cabronita's. The Dirnt's and the Cabby's interchange no Problem but the I thought the CV's were different.
I'll have to re-visit that and try to swap them out. All of them are fine Basses.

I pre-ordered one of these through GC and I expect that it will ship in the near future. In the interim, I have decided to go another way. The one I pre-ordered from Sweetwater arrived today!! I am waiting to open it until tomorrow to be safe. So, I can show you a picture of the box or the ones that Sweetwater sent. They are below. I also saw a video on YouTube from Fender, so it would seem they are official. Sweetwater had one on the web yesterday too, but it sold in a few hours. I've seen a few others on different sites as well. GC tells me that the pre-order I have with them won't ship until the 11th, but I suspect they already have them and it's just a matter of processing time. I am hopeful that it will be next week. I plan to sell it, so I am not in any hurry. Here are the SW shots I received. I am anxiously waiting to play it.

Yep, I did a new bass day that got almost no responses. I guess we are the few who liked it.

NBD - Fender Parrallel Universe 51 Tele

I like that it gets the tone options. p to j and combined. I didn't think I would like them both full on, but it's like P tone with more treble. I've never heard that on my other P/J's. I like it a lot. I installed the La Bella through body flats and did a full setup. Plays great, straight neck, low action, and that great Fender tone.

Grats on the one you have inbound.

I have yet to gig mine but absolutely love playing it so far. Great neck, and the J pickup is way more useful than the other PJs I own. Waiting to give it a good setup till it adjusts to Nashville weather, I find it take about a month for basses shipped from California to settle into where they're gonna live.

Two PBSCs? Two Jazz pickups (a non-offset contour body parallel universe).
