Fender Precision Bass, fake or genuine?

This is a joke right? A really early April Fools? It is fake, that head stock sticker looks like it will fall off if it gets too humid out.

When I look again, I think only the poor neck MIGHT be authentic Fender. Strange truss rod cover at the head though. Maybe some shoddy truss rod mods were made and that's why the fingerboard is seperating? The neck looks oddly narrow though, especially for a p bass.

Absolutely NOT a Fender bass. Look to the East for the answer.

Sorry. Truly a fake. Not a bad looking body though. I would toss that tired neck, and purchase a Fender knockoff neck and a decent set of pickups d pots, put some flats on it and make it your own.

Only one way to find out. Real Fenders burn when you pour gasoline on them and toss a lit match at it. So.. if it catches fire it’s probably a Fender. If you want to know, that’s the way.

Hi All,

Hoping to pick your brains on this, my Bass knowledge isn't so great.

I have an old Fender Precision Bass which was given to me some years ago in pretty bad shape. It had since been kept in the loft (not me who put it there) and have recently found it and took it out. Unfortunately as you can see in the photos, it's in very poor shape.

Wondering if this could potentially be a fake Fender Precision, are there any specific tell-tale signs or any reliable way I could confirm if it was genuine or not.

If genuine, do you think it would be worth fixing it up?

Everyone knows that witches are made of wood. But the question is, how heavy is it. Logically because wood floats, and so do ducks, then if the bass weighs the same as a duck, then it's a witch.

Maybe take it apart, look at the neck bottom where it joins the body. There’s usualy markings or stamps when it was manufactured. Look in he control cavity what do the electronics look like? Even if it is a fake fender doesn’t mean it’s not a good sounding bass.. remove that fake fender decal and clean it up and call it Mystery Machine lol but ya definitely gotta get a new neck one can be obtained for a couple hundred.
