Fender road worn Jazz with 60s MIM neck?

To me what makes the Fender RW basses so good are the necks, but there’s a few from certain periods that are not so good with ski slope or twisted. My guess is that was the case here and probably got replaced? I’d pass if not the OE Road Worn neck, the OE can have a magical feel!

Yep. I've got a 2010 RW Jazz and its neck is insanely good.

Also, the OP's neck pic shows a thick poly finish that, to me, sticks out like a sore thumb.

Hi guys,
First post here. I've been lurking for a while.

I'm interested in a used sunburst Road worn Jazz bass that's up for sale in my general area. However, when I looked up the serial number on the neck, it indicated a February 2010 MIM 3TS 60s jazz bass. Model # 0131800300 (MZ9569767)

Could that be a factory error, or is it likely that the neck has been replaced on the road worn body?

Unless you are buying this for resale at some point and make a buck, an unlikely scenario, I wouldn’t worry about it. IMO , if it’s reasonably priced, a good instrument that plays well nd sounds great, buy it and play the pants off of it.

Update: I'm going to hold off on this one. I'd prefer to have an all original Jazzer. (The price on this one wasn't a bargain either) I might end up getting another model, as well. Although, my preference is still a Fender (or maybe Squire) that looks and sounds close to a sunburst 1962-64 Jazz bass...

Good call IMO.

And the fact that you had to come here and ask tells us the seller wasn't being transparent about the replacement neck. You'd need to point that out and counter offer for what sounds like much lower than asking price. IME just not worth dealing with it for something that's not all in.

Yeah, exactly. He doesn't want to accept that the neck was replaced. It's not worth the effort, imo. I'll keep looking...

If he’s not excepting that neck was replaced then I wouldn’t expect it to be replaced properly either?
