Fender road worn odor?

On a similar note... I used to love that 'sweet' guitar shop smell. I used to call it 'that Fender' smell... does anyone know what I'm talking about?

When I first got my Stingray it absolutely reeked of it... superb. What was it?

I used to think it was some kind of Beeswax... I'd love to get that smell back.

Oh yeah, Gibsons back in the day had it bad. Try a can of the
black Gibson aerosol guitar polish and see what you think.
The polar opposite of this Fender road worn aroma.

Nitrocellulose has a sweet smell to it that works it's way in to the case. Best guitar smell there is

I believe the correct authentic odor would be cigarette smoke.

Only tobacco? Dude....?

And maybe stale beer.

Doesn't sound sustainable or green to me.

Anyone else notice the "Acrylic oil paint" smell coming
off the finishes on these basses? Freaky deaky! Mom used to
paint in oils, so it sparks a warm memory for me, but I'm kind
of concerned about this potentially noxious, or perhaps toxic
by-product of whatever they're spraying these things with.
The poly and nitro finished axes I've 'smelled' were indeed
odorless. Anybody?

When my 1955 P-bass was restored and refinished by RSguitarworks, it came home with that delicious Nitro aroma. I miss the intensity of it.

As weird as this is, I still believe the best smell is acoustic.
I don't know why, I just like it.
