I'm a newbie and after a short spell with a borrowed Peavey picked up a Rumble 25.
At this stage, it's enough for practicing in my living room and I like that it's all in one.
Sounds better than the Peavey, but not as nice as my father's big vintage bass amp.

If you get a chance sometime, try the 25's big brother, 500

Quick question guys, after 2 1/2 years of having my killer Rumble rig Rumble 500 with a 1 15" ex cab was wondering (sorry if this has been answered) is the line out Pre or Post and does the volume on the amp control the line out volume ? Thanks

Ha-Ha! The XRL Out is post everything. If you jack your Rumble's volume up, you jack the XLR signal too. Capiche? But it works just fine as a feed to the PA's mixing board or to the recording studio mixing console. You have leeway and will not blow out the board if you need to tweak your stage volume up a bit. It's OK.

That's kind of the only thing I don't like about this amp.
They put in a ground lift switch, when ground lift can easily be implemented outboard. A pre-post switch would have been immensely more useful. Fender went for the low hanging fruit on this one IMO.

I think that is total BS. You spend $$$ to get a certain sound. You want that sound coming out of the sound system or going down on a recording. It's what you paid for. Get it! Let the gutless/ball-less wonders go their own amp-less toneless way. I can't stand it. In the days before sanitized nothing DI, our amps were mic'd up. Guitards still do it and even demand it! In this respect they are far smarter than many bass players. Demand your sound, and don't wimp out for less.

Given a choice, I'd rather that switch on the back gave me the pre-post option, instead of ground lift.

I currently use a pair of Vintage Modified Squier 5 string P's with Slinky flatwounds to gig with. I also have an Ibanez ATK 305 with 8 yr old chromes, but that stays at home.
