Fender Rumble Club

That is no excuse, and I'll tell you why...

A couple years back, I corrected some deliberate misinformation (and I'm being kind by using the word "misinformation") being spread by a person in here. I was very nice about it, didn't insult Fender products or the person in any way...just wanted to set the record straight. A day or two later, I was met with a 3 or 4 paragraph diatribe from that person about how I was a devil-worshipping alcoholic. Meanwhile, if I have more than 5 alcoholic drinks in a year's time, it's a rarity, and this person regularly posts pics of bottles of booze in here. But I'm an alcoholic with my measly occasional beer.

Don't bother searching for it...the mods removed it and any trace of the subsequent conversation. And this same person has regularly gone into threads where people need some troubleshooting advice about a problem they're having, and this person tells them they should throw their amp away and laughs at them, and in one case, even said they got "raped." And to this day, this person replies to people having problems or stating their dislike of certain features on these Rumble amps with that same combative attitude.

That isn't "lively." That's just rude and obnoxious. And trust me...this is coming from a person who can be as rude and obnoxious as any ten people on here. But the mods don't let me do it anymore :D and even if they did, I've learned that it doesn't accomplish anything except make people dislike you. And if that's the end goal in this club, then let me just say that it's working. But one thing I've found...I don't like to report people, but it sure has slowed down the more obnoxious among us...myself included :D

I have respect for helpful veteran posters such as yourself. I was just trying to lighten the mood. Cheers.

I appreciate your effort at levity. It's just that sometimes, we're not all always on the same wavelength. What is intended as humor by one may be received differently by another. If I'm trying to lighten a mood, I always try to include an appropriate imoji to help convey, what words might not. I'm not saying everyone should do the same, just that it might make a difference on the receiving end. If that isn't your style, that isn't your style and that's fine. We all do our best, sometimes we just heed a little extra help.

I do agree with JimmyM that things have seemed a bit more contentious here than usual.

I own a Fender amp, a Squier bass, that should be worth points. JimmyM on the other hand is a dyed in the wool Ampeg guy. He should be dumped on relentlessly here.

See what I just did there?
Anyway, thanks.

Dig. I certainly wasn't trying to call you out by that post, though I guess it looked that way. Sorry about that. I'm just saying that the negative vibe cast by the person who does that is pretty overwhelming and it's not done in lighthearted fun by any means.

And that's actually funny and I took it that way :D The stuff I was talking about is not funny even a little.

Amen. My 100 sounds great, too. And SOOO easy to haul.
I bought my Rumble 100 2 years ago when the 3rd generations 1st came out. Yes it's light and easy to haul, good looking and has plenty of options on it for tone. I like the amp for practicing at home but not for my band. It has a good tone but it's lacking the chest pounding low end bass presence. With a band you could hear it but that bass presence isn't there.if you wanna stick with Fender I would go with A bassman unit.

I use my 100 for acoustic gigs, small stages where I there is minimal space (although I use IEM's too), and then for practice (less bass tends to let everyone else keep it down for vocals). Great little amp. I use a Rumble 200 for larger shows and recently picked up a GK MB212-II combo which is super loud. I only bring out my big rig (Ampeg 610 and Thunderfunk or Ampeg PF-800) for large stages outdoors-mainly for looks.

How do you stay consistent with your tone with all these different amps and setups?

The 100 isn't really meant for band use, as it doesn't have the power required. The 200 and 500 combos or the corresponding head/cab combinations have the necessary oomph to get the job done in a band, especially when coupled with their appropriate extension cabs. A Bassman is fantastic, of course, but you will find a lot of people here in the Rumble club doing very well with their Rumbles, even in loud bands.

Yeah, I know. I don't use my 100 for full band gigs. I have a big Markbass rig for that. I just wanted something for light rehearsals that could also do a light gig that I didn't mind hauling around often.

I bought a Fender Rumble 500 combo and 1x15 Extension cab. It's shipped and will be here Friday. Which is awesome I have a couple days with it before rehearsal and and couple more before my next gig. I'm thinking about putting the 1x15 under my drummers ass as he's always complaining he can't hear me. I'm thinking I might not have to do that with this amp tho.

I've been fighting with my current rig to get a decent well defined low end with nice highs. I've played through other's Rumble with my bass and was so envious off the tone. I won't have to fight with it any more. I got the low end dialed in on current rig, but when I soloed I couldn't hear myself. I'm pretty amped up to get it.

I'm really looking forward to the sound and having a light weight bad ass sounding combo. I can walk into venue with bass in one hand and combo in the other. I guess there is the extension cab if I use it. But I have a small dolley if need be. I'm thinking most of the smallish venues I play (200-300) people the combo will do.

@Gravedigger Dav can I get a Fender Rumble Club number when you have a chance to issue it please?
