Fender Rumble Club

I don't drink....but, I may start.....

I took on a foster child...then my 65 year old brother got a serious head injury and I am taking guardianship of him as well--and his wife is moving in too.

This ends my plans to use my back building as a concert venue. I will have the one and only concert there this August 26. After that--I have to convert it into a home for my bro. Serious stuff--I am having to close out his law practice as we speak and do my job as well. He was a genius --but it is all gone. All from a bicycle accident.

Oh man, that is rough. You're a good man taking all that on. I wish you all the best.

Ya might overwork the 12" before the 15" is even sweating, though. Be careful.

The 12" cab is rated 500 w program, 250 w continuous.
The 15" cab is rated 600 w program, 300 w continuous.
Not a lot of difference, really, to be very concerned over mixed drivers, in this case. Together they split the 4 ohm power and see "only" 250 w each.
Actually a little more danger being used alone. Either one alone could possibly see 350 w of the Rumble 500 head at 8 ohms.

After 3 years of rockin, it was now time to take my Rumble 500 head apart and clean the pots and switches.

All, and I mean all of the pots were staticky when you turned them.

I hit all of them with DeOxit and man, they are better then new.

Anybody have issues with early or late model heads and dirty pots?

Thank all of you for your well wishes.

I just had a dramatic change of circumstances for the good at about 4:35 yesterday.

I work for the Army and have a steady good paying job. However, I have literally been on my knees asking for Divine Providence. Seriously. I need provision for taking on all that I am being called to do.

The State of Georgia called me at 4:35 yesterday and offered me a senior supervisory law position that includes a dramatic salary increase and a non-standard (less than 40 hour) work week. It literally came out of the blue. He provided.

I just typed my resignation letter and will be handing it in today.

Good Work @Clark Westfield! :woot: Mine are all good for now. It's amazing what a little shot of D5 will do. Some people are just incapable of such simple maintenance, but there are good amp technicians that will be more than happy to do this little chore for you.

Now I'm trying to decide on the 115 extension cab or another 210. I like the matched set look, but I think the 115 will round out the sound.

From what I gather, the general consensus is the second 2x10 is the way to go. A 1x15 sounds good, but there are arguably some issues with phase [or something to that extent] having two different speaker types.

Yes, that Vintage button is a weird thing, takes some fiddling but in the end I really liked it.

The vintage 'on' and all others off, with my jazz bass [both volumes and tone full up] and eq set flat is a pretty marvelous thing. I keep the overdrive off and set the input gain about half way up. To me its warm but still has the jazz bass "pig grunt' growl that I love. Makes the bass distinct in a mix but not overbearing or obnoxious or distracting.

Nothing yet.

Glad to hear it! Sometimes good things come unlooked for.
