That's easy! You buy it for the Classic Fender Tone. The front end is as versatile as you are going to get at this price point. I do not know what Fender's Principal Engineer, Dave Lewis, has up his sleeve for the V4 Rumbles or when they might be introduced.
Two things that wouldn't cost too much more would be combo 1/4" / speakon output jacks in the heads, and a pre/post EQ switch on the XRL out.
I do not think that Fender wants to drive the Rumble line out of it's current market niche. Bumping the top power up to a Rumble 800 head would require a total revamp of the power handling capacity of Rumble speaker cabinets, and that is something I don't think we'll see simply due to increased expense to the bass playing consumer. For that level, the Bassman 800 is already available as is the line of Bassman Pro Neo speakers. No need to reinvent the 800 watt wheel.

Thanks! It's a 2015 American Standard ADE Precision with a Pure Vintage 63 pickup. I love that thing.... and it sounds great through the Rumble!Killer setup.
Both those improvements, especially the pre/post switch, would remove many people’s objections to the Rumble series. For myself, I’d want LEDs by the vintage/contour/bright/ switches so as to tell more easily whether or not they’re engaged. Other than that, there’s not much to do, really - the Rumble series is pretty good as is. And you have to leave people SOME excuses to get a Bassman! That's easy! That's a brilliant point @JakobT. The buttons themselves could light up when engaged.I’d want LEDs by the vintage/contour/bright/ switches so as to tell more easily whether or not they’re engaged
That’d be even cooler! Mumbojumbo’s idea to make them footswitchable is also an excellent idea. That's a brilliant point @JakobT. The buttons themselves could light up when engaged.
I LIKE this! You guys are geniuses. Seriously, no emoji needed. That's a brilliant point @JakobT. The buttons themselves could light up when engaged.

Groovy! Serious apples-to-apples comparison. Looking forward to your critique.I'm going to be playing it back and forth with the Traynor over the long weekend (it's Thanksgiving in Canada!). It will be interesting to see how they compare.

Quite a few amps who look like they should weigh about the same as the 40 are surprisingly heavy. My old 25W Ampeg BA-108 was a case in point. It was smaller than the 40 but weighed almost 8 pounds more!I'll give you a preview... I'm going to love them both LOL! The TB-50 has been a very good and reliable amp for me over the years and has fought off quite a few challenges. It's got a great DI and a really nice clean tone for my band's acoustic gigs. However I absolutely love my Rumble 200 so I'm pretty sure I'm going to like the 40 a lot. I'm very surprised that the Rumble is so much lighter than the Traynor. I really thought they'd be within a couple of pounds of each other. That 6 pounds might be the deciding factor right there as to which one gets our band's next acoustic gig![]()
I am a huge fan of White Pearloid Blocks!!!!!

Oh crap, I missed the Fender Friday!!! Here's the Aerodyne I mentioned a few pages back, in its new home:

The fretboard was very dry, so I quickly ordered some lemon oil and applied two layers earlier today. Looks much better and smells nice too!
This thing is as fast as a ferrari, especially for slap. Surely it's because of the color![]()
