Ever since I purchased my Rumble and started visiting this forum, the GAS for a Fender or Fender-like bass has been building. I know that I will cave eventually---it's inevitable. The only question is, of course, J or P?

In the past, I've leaned towards Js--love the growl of a J-bass bridge pickup...but lately I have been hankering more for the P-bass thump...maybe because I have never actually owned an authentic Precision Bass....many Js and J-clones, but never a P...

What say you all?

Absolutely. Fender Precision paired with a Fender Rumble is perfect. Then get a Jazz!

Made another Rumble lover. I meet a guitar player at GC in Lewisville, Texas, Saturday to look at a Squier VM 70s Jazz he had for sale. We went in to use an amp so I could try it out. I plugged in to a 200c. He said he wasn't familiar with Fender Amps, so I gave him a brief overview.
He really liked how it sounded and wondered how heavy it is. I said nothing as he picked it up. He was, of course, surprised. He really likes Rumbles.
(does this make me a Rumble evangelist?

I usually go to either the Hulen st Fort Worth or the new one in Alliance. But, I have bought 2 basses from the Lewisville store. We met there because he lives not far from it and I was in Ponder all day Saturday.

I usually go to the Plano store because it’s close to work but I like Lewisville better.

Do you play in catatonic scales ? I like the finish, now I'm itchin for that full size 5 string. I could always play songs with nearly exact routine, but never could improvise. Some stuff with pentatonic and minor extensions. Some Asian scales make bright cheery passages. Lots of leap in them.

I have to admit I can go quite catatonic when practicing scales.

Not sure who is in charge here, but I posted about a month or so back that I just bought a Rumble 500C. I don't recall getting a number. I now have the 210 cab to go with it, so I'm pretty sure I should be in the club. BTW, I love the set up/sound. Still can't get over the sound and the weight. Add in the $$$ spent and it's untouchable. I can even put my GB Streamliner on top and run it through the extension cab. I am one happy camper. My GAS has been cured...for now.

Couldn't agree more my Rumble 200 combo & Am.Std Precision are just in a class of their own for me, almost 3 years on I see no reason to change either of them. And as for the Jazz side of things I use a Peavey Foundation which again sounds great through the Rumble, & more importantly for me it's Made in the U.S.A. I love American made basses .
