Fender Rumble Club

@JACink do you use the combo by itself all the time? I bought a 210 ext cab to go with my 500 combo, but I feel it’s probably overkill and it’s nice only hauling one cab/amp. I’m debating on selling the ext cab. Or possibly keeping the cab and selling the 500 combo, to buy a 500 head to go with the cab haha.

Hey Nico....for some reason I cant send you a conversation...but if you decide to sell the combo or the ext cab, let me know! I have the Rumble 500 head and we might even be able to work out a trade

Edit: @nico485 do you have your settings set to block private conversations? This is weird

I only own the combo and it is plenty for me, but it depends on each persons situation. I don't play any gigs where I need more than the combo without PA support, mainly because I own plenty of PA stuff, and also work with plenty of PA stuff, so I am not short on volume when needed. The only time I need to be dependent on the combo is at rehearsals (which I am not rehearsing at present) and Jams, and so far I have not needed to squeeze the combo at all.

Having said that, if I had the space, I would most definitely pick up the extension cab, not because I need it but because it looks great and sounds much better than it looks ;)

Thanks! And it does look good and puts the sound up closer to my ears. But it was an impulse buy and one that I really shouldn’t have made haha.

Not surprisingly, the Boss GT-1B has a preamp sim for the Bassman that is very Rumble like. I am even more convinced that I would love a Bassman as much as a Rumble - minus the weight and price.

And some of the other sims of amps compared unfavorably to Rumbles here by some are interesting but not for me. Some are just plain yuck.

I was very pleased to find a compressor to get the same effect as my MXR and a chorus pedal to replace my boss one. Both are a nearly exact match. I can even dial EQ in to match the contour and overdrive. The boss even has output options for when running into the amp vs without (speaker sim on/off). So I can replace my entire pedalboard into Rumble or go direct to DAW and retain my Rumble sound.

Rumbles rule. This boss pedal makes it work even better for me. 2 enthusiastic slapping thumbs up for this thing with a Rumble and for Rumble tone fans. Someday I have to learn to slap.

Welcome Rumbler # 850! That little 25 is the perfect practice amp. I even used mine on a small gig once. Now, I do notice the power cord is sitting on top of the amp. I suggest plugging it it. Rumbles sound so much better plugged in. :smug:

I was never knocked out by the sound of any of them, but I just thought that was the way it was. When I got my Rumble rig, I was really blown away how much sound, power and tone they put out.
I could really hear myself. On paper, my older rigs should of been dynamite, but left me wanting. Maybe some operator error, but I can't reconcile how a somewhat budget amp can out perform some heavyweight rigs. I'm not trying to shill for Fender, but this thing is sounding like I want my amp to sound like. I wish I had this years ago. Now I want a Bassman.

Shilling for Fender is acceptable here.
The Bassman 500 head has the same power unit is the Rumble 500. The difference is the tubes and preamp. So, I don't feel like I'm abandoning Rumble at all. I still have my 25 and my 100. I haven't sold the 500 and the extension yet, but when I do, I think I'll use the money to buy a 500 head to use for a backup. It's light and small and familiar.

Welp, I couldn't resist any longer. I added the 2x10 extension cab to my 500. The neighbors are not gonna like this!

And as a non-Rumble side note..for those of you who don't know about the Talmans, they are a serious sleeper bass.

Let me know what you think....I'm ready to pull the trigger on a second 210 myself. Of course I'll need an additional speaker cable and a cover:) I really don't need it volume wise, but I play older rock, blues and sometime country...and the classic "stack" on stage look really fits.

So far it sounds great, will know more after two gigs this weekend. Keep in mind MF has a deal on the 2x10 now if you add it to your cart it drops down to something like 279, that sucked me in!

Like you said, I don't need the volume at all, the combo alone barely goes past 9:00 on gain and Master at Noon in a two guitar band; but the stack looks sexy as all get out.

You don't REALLY need the extension 210 cab. BUT - even at low volume having those 4 - 10's going the tone just fills/permeates the room in a way that just has to be experienced to be understood. Plus, as others have said it just looks better on stage too.

Looks, but sound, too. I gigged for about a year before I added the 2x10 to my 500c. It is a bit louder, but mostly fuller and adds to that physical experience with bass.

That's the magic of: the cabinet coupling effect; access to 150 additional watts, moving twice as much air, and last but not least the inflated ego effect of stacked cabs. It's all relevant.
