I want to start saving up for my battery powered Rumble.

No, I'm not going. You have to be invited, and I am too poor to fly out and stay in a hotel.
There will be videos from various sources such as Sweetwater plus show reports from several folks from TalkBass that are attending so there will be plenty of posts. It will take a while for new product to reach the retailers.

The only place cabinet resonance is a plus, is for guitar, like some 50's Fender tweed combos. Thin, crack-prone baffles and pine cabinetry gave them a "ring" that sounded a little like reverb.

Dynamat is good for damping out relatively high-pitched ringing in cars. You'd need a ton of it to deal with the low-end resonance you're hearing from your cab.

Fender got us most of the way there, but skimped a bit on the details, in order to meet such an aggressive price point.

The v3 Rumble 40 is nice and stiff, but that's because it's so small. The bigger panels on the Rumble 100/200/500

Yeah, thanks Steve. I do note some frequency 'doubling' in the lower registers. Difficult to wonder if this is resonance or what but not at all unpleasant. I use MarkBass gear also which is bland at best but also good for the jazz style I'm involved with and regular pop which doesn't exhibit that effect.

When I get some time I'll have a think about your information and perhaps try out a few experiments.

I was at a GC recently, the tiny Mark Bass 121p was nearly $1000...for a dinky amp made in Indonesia!!!! I can get a whole lotta Rumble for a grand

Yea...I never understood why thier prices are so much higher than other comparable products. They sound ok, but they don't sound "2-3 times the cost" better.

When to comes to amps, costs when referencing sound should be measured on a log scale, so to get twice as good of sound cost is 100 times,to get sound three times as much,then cost is 1000 times more. thats what they teach in music science at a major engineering school about 70 miles south of the intersection of I-25 and I-40.

Just like all the competitive bass amps & combos that cost two or three times more, they don't sound better, just different, and sometimes bad different. Not even good different. If you are going to spend 200 or 300% more to sound different, make sure you sound good different. Just a little sound tip from your good old uncle Linnster.

I liked my Markbass 2x10" fine, but haven't heard one of their amps I liked. Almost devoid of an overdrive.

My point was... I can get my sound or even a good sound from either, why pay twice as much for a near equivalent end result. It subjective of course, but in my case MB offers me nothing that I can't get from a Rumble and offers me nothing to justify the radical price difference. I guess if someone really likes the MB tonal footprint....but you'd have to reaaaaly like it a lot to pay that much more

I agree 1,000,000%. Of course all these things depend on money too regardless. If I had endless cash I would just buy everything, I wish

Fender have done such a great job with the Rumbles, perfect pitch to be applauded. Look good, sound good and they are good . .

If they have customers willing to pay, that works. With some brands, models there is also an elite factor - it costs more, so it must be better - kind of pride. Fender is no stranger to that type of product positioning.

The Rumbles just sound great despite the price. Fender offers great stuff at all price levels. That's why we love em.

I've always heard good things about Markbass. A few months ago I had a chance to try a 112c during a sound check. I'd have to say it did sound pretty good for such a small unit, but I really wasn't blown away.....until I looked up the price!

Just played my '68 Gibson EB2D through the new Rumble 200c...I have never heard the Gibson sound so good!!!

I don't know about all of you out there but, if I was Fender, Linnin would have got an invite and they would have paid for the flight and hotel. He has done more for their product than most others. Just my .02 worth...

I appreciate your sentiment, but that would make me a compensated endorser, which I am not. Fanatic, Yes. Same thing holds true for GHS Strings, of which I am an ardent fan.

On other forums, there is a guy who advocates and supports a product with no official affiliation and has been recognized as someone important and flown to meet higher ups to discuss what users are wanting from future versions of the product. I don't know if NAMM is the right venue for that, but it wouldn't hurt them to have Linn by to talk Rumble.
