Fender Rumble Club

I would like to join. I've recently purchased a fender rumble 150 bass combo amp and it sounds totally awesome. I tried one out at a guitar center about 3 months ago and I do like the sound quality on that combo amp. it has such thunderous lows and punchy highs. from my perspective, the fender rumble sounded like a cross between a fender bassman and a gallien-krueger. it's a keeper.

I'm going to overstep my bounds as a Fender Rumble Club member, and pick up some of the slack here.

The last member number issued by BumbleB was #72 to cm3ohana. Therefore in order of request:

#73 goes to rafe27
#74 goes to thebreakman
#75 goes to Crystalman85

I hope that everything is alright with BumbleB, and will contact a moderator and see what the protocol is in the case of club abandonment by it's founder.

Hi guys!

Sorry for my absence. We have been coping with an illness in our family and I'm job hunting too, so my priorities have gotten shoved around some.

Linnin, thank you for issuing the numbers on my behalf. I will add them to my numbers document. If you could let me know what the mods tell you about the procedures on this I would appreciate it. Seems like there aren't any rules in place for the operations of the clubs but if they are listed somewhere I'd like to know about it.

Thanks for the good wishes. Things aren't easy but they could be worse I guess. I hope they won't be though! I also hope to be able to have more time for my fun bass stuff. I haven't had the chance to play in over a month now! :(

I'll be joining the club soon as my old peavey finally gave up this morning. The 30 should be just about right for home use.

Yes pudge, the Rumble 30 is an excellent choice for a personal practice amp. Affordable & Dependable. Small footprint and lightweight.

I chose the Rumble 75 as my personal practice choice, and I was amazed at how good it was and still is! So much so that I bought a Rumble 350 head to gig with. Stellar tone.

Rumbles Rock!

I use my 350 as a backup to an Ampeg PF800. Never had to use it (except for band practices) though. It sounds good but not as good as the Ampeg. I'd buy another if it failed though.

Edit: The 350 is half the cost of the Ampeg, to be fair.

So right you are, rocksmoot! Always smart to back up an Ampeg with a highly reliable; gig-worthy, toneful, and soulful Fender Rumble Bass Amplifier. It's just the right thing to do! :)

You're quite welcome, Crystalman85, any time and Welcome To The Fender Rumble Club! Because....

Rumbles Rock!

Indeed they do. even my brother(who is a guitarist by the way) was impressed with the fender rumble. my first day testing out my fender rumble 150, I came up with this setting.

Overdrive: gain: 9:00, blend: 12:00
Shape: punch(vintage) or scoop(modern)
Eq: bass: 1:00, lo-mid: 1:00, hi-mid: 11:00, treble: 10:00

This setting can give you an ampeg-like sound. the punch shape seems to deliver a vintage hard rock sound and the scoop shape gives it a smooth modern rock sound. I think it's a great setting for playing hard rock and heavy metal. I don't know if this is the right thread to show settings, but it's something I like to share.

A tone setting I've settled upon for low volume practice:
Volume: 9-10 o'clock
Bass: 2 o'clock or about +5db
Low Mid: also at 2 o'clock
High Mid: 9 o'clock or about -6db
Treble: 11 o'clock for just a slight cut of the highs for a smoother top end.

This works well for both my Jazz strung in rounds and also my Precision strung in flats.

I also have an entire thread on Rumble tone settings over on the Fender Lounge in the bass amp sub-forum.
