Looks nice hey? !!

I had the choice between blonde/oxblood and black/silver when I bought my Super Bassman amp... I really wanted to go the blonde/oxblood option as I think it looks cool and especially so in the Super Bassman. But practicality took over (dammit) & I ordered the black n silver. .. reasoning :- wouldn't stand out as much. .(Good for corporate functions that I often do) and was (hopefully) less likely to get noticed/ stand out at the rougher clubs etc. . therefore making it theft proof :roflmao::bassist:drool

Just purchased a used Rumble 60. It's got two smaller gigs and one larger gig, where the band leader had me put it, "right behind the drummer's head to push him along."

No idea how old it is, but it's dead quiet and works well.

Which reminds me: About how old is it?

Just came across this club, had no idea how badly I needed it in my life until tonight. Would love to get a number!

I picked up the 200 combo last week and gigged it over the weekend. Held its own in a fairly crowded (though small) back room in my college punk/rock band, though I'm thinking about getting an extension for a little extra volume. Does anyone have any experience adding a 112 or 115 to the 200 combo? Would I be better off trying to trade up to the 500? Thanks!

A matching 15" worked very well for me. Cool.

(Gasp!) You mean you actually bought an amp without asking TB what you should buy!?! Who are you and what makes you think you can think for yourself? ;)

Yes, many 200c owners here have experience with various extension cabs. Search the thread for their comments. My own interpretation of those comments is that any of the Fender cabs are suitable for use with the Rumbles. My own 500c plays well with my Bassman 115, for example.

An 8 ohm extension cab will give you the full 200 watts in addition to more speaker area for more sound pressure level (SPL), so, more volume. The 112 and 210 cabs match dimensions of your combo. The 115 matches your internal speaker for, perhaps, somewhat closer Acoustic coupling, though it's cab is a bit wider. The 410 would add the most SPL. Take your pick.

The Fender Rumble Club Wiki has pix of Rumble combos with Rumble cabs, and lots more, for your perusal.

:)

A question on cabs. I have a GK700Rb and am thinking of pairing either the 115 or 210 with it, and possibly add a second cab later.

I play mainly rock, metal and blues with a 5 string. I have tried the 115 in store and liked it but haven't found a 210 to compare it to. Thoughts?

The 210 and 115 Cubs get the most mention here but don't forget the 112 cabs.

So I am looking at getting either the 500c or the new 800
I have played through a 500c and as you all know it sounds great and is a power house
The extra power is nice on the 800 but not what I am looking at the 800 for. Putting another 400w to an external cab IS something to consider though and having the 4 ohm cab option could come in handy.

I see a few differences with the 800 and would like your input(s) on them

1. There is a pre and post XLR line out. A lot of Rumble users have complained about the standard setting on the 500c is post line out. There is a way to change this (I have read) but it doesn't seem easy.
Has anyone changed the line out settings on a 500c?
2. The 800 has a two 1/4" line-outs for stereo. Has anyone used such a feature before and for what application(s) would this be used for?
3. The 800 has a USB port. I read that this can be used for recording (true or false)? Or is this just for connecting to a computer (firmware, updates and such)?

Eventually I would like to join a band but for now I am happy just jamming/practicing on my own. I feel the FXs would be to my advantage at home but worried about the durability of the amp if I start playing out.
Does anyone have experience with any of the other newer Fender digital amps and their ruggedness?
My brother has an older Cyber Twin that has stood the test of time with fairly heavy gigging but not sure how that compares to 'todays' digital amps (amp is still running and sounding great but the big a$$ pedal board that came with it did not!)

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated, thanks for reading

I've owned my Rumble 500 combo for about 2.5 years I think and it developed a symptom:

The "Vintage" button is malfunctioning. It seems to make a bad contact and when pressed it either cuts the sound or makes a lot of noise but if I wiggle it slowly it eventually starts working fine, until touched again.

Does this seem like an easy fix? Happened to anyone else?
Thanks

Welcome Rumbler #879! There are a couple of things an extension cab will give you. It does give more volume, but it also allows you to move more are so you get more of the physical feel of the bass. It also gets a speaker up closer to your ear so you can hear it better. Oh, and it looks really cool, too. Since the 200 has a 15, I'd suggest getting the 1x15. Now Rumble on!
