I don't have a Rumble 500, but none of the controls on my three Rumbles make any noise at all. When you say "a little bit of noise" is it just a little scratchy and needs a shot of Deoxit? Even so just exchange it.
Yeah, it's scratchy. It's only the master volume though, every other pot is fine.
I have no clue what Deoxit is but I can probably find something similar around here (I'm not in the US) and give it a shot. If this solves my problem it's easier than carrying the amp to the store, waiting for them to exchange it and bringing it back...

Try twisting the pot back and forth really fast about 20 times, sometimes that'll fix a little bit of dust scratchiness.
We can no longer assume 'common sense' in this day and age as it seems to be a rare commodity.
Yeah, twisting it makes a little bit better but it seems to return to its noisy state quickly...
It's not the end of the world, I just wanted to know if it was somewhat common because asking for a exchange and having the same noise on another unit was something I could see happening...

My master volume, treble button and vintage button are scratchy. For now it bothers only when adjusting the amp, otherwise my 500H works as it should.
My 500 head does pretty much the same thing upon first turning up the volume. Like a static charge going off, but after the knob is turned it goes away. I thought I was going crazy, but it sounds like something many of us are hearing. I don't touch the volume right away after turning on, and sometimes that works. Admittedly, it hasn't seemed to have any effect with using it. Time will tell.
My master vol on my 500 combo is scratchy. Only when there is a signal going through the amp. If I hit and open string and let it ring and then turn the vol, I get scratchiness. But with no sound going through the amp it's quiet.
I picked up a Rumble 500 last week. Its light, sounds great and its very powerful. I haven’t gigged it yet but I’m sure it will be awesome. We shall see, I have two gigs this weekend.

Not to be a thread crapper, but just an FYI and YMMV. I love my Rumble 100 V3...absolutely love it...sounds great, super light, and loud for what it is. Handles the low B well. That being said...I bought a 500 210 V3 combo. I returned it. I didn't like my low B on it (I play 5er's about 90% of the time). Too growly almost farty. Sounded great on the E string though. I played a bunch with eq and just couldn't get past that. Maybe the 200 with a 15 would work better for me?
Try the Rumble 200 combo, Lync, and let us know what you think. Steve thought it was too dark. I haven't played one yet. Anyone that owns or has lived with a Rumble 200, please feel free to chime in. The Rumble 500 head on top of a pair of Rumble 115 cabinets would rock pretty hard.
I get that same weird static if I hit an open string ,let it ring , and turn volume knob at same time. Again, Im not bothered by it but you reminded me of it. Design quirk ? Maybe, but I forgive it since its so inexpensive , lightweight and easy to EQ for great tone.
