Fender Rumble Club

I checked both out thanks GP and from poor memory (like yours) I believe it may have been the SS70C with twin 10" drivers...It really was a powerful amp and my Peavey MKIV with its 1820 cab was really pushed if he decided to turn up and really drive it. We had a loud drummer and another guitarist so we got loud sometimes. I know it was less than a 100w amp and my Peavey MKIV was a 210w head and sometimes I really had to punch it out to keep up with him if he pushed it. Thanks for the info too. The SS70C does look a lot like his 90's rig with the 2x10's in it.
Glad I Could help. Ya got me curious so I went a-googling. I'd never heard of it, kinda cool. The guitarists I worked with in the early 70s had Twin Reverbs or Super Reverbs. I was using a blonde piggyback Bassman 'til I got my Kasino. Hadda push the Bassman pretty hard.:bassist:

I know theres been talk of different settings , but on the rumble amps , is using the least amount of gain you can , and using master for overall volume the way to get the cleanest sound , ( which is what I want ) , I know most guitar amps are that way . thanks .

anyone got any cool settings for a nice stingray tone? couldn't find any on the app.

App? Are you using a Studio/Stage?

For a Standard Rumble I really like setting my Vintage (brand) Stingray like this: Gain 8-9 o'clock, no buttons engaged, bass 12-1, low mid 1, high mid 3-4, treble noon, master as loud as needed. Lots and lots of low end out of this, far more then the EBMM SR4H I had ever put out (I leave the new SR copy's EQ notched 24/7). It's got that sort of thick but slightly pushed (in a clean way) sound with that classic Stingray bite coming through a bit.

For subtractive EQ IIRC I use: bass 10, low-mid 11, high mid 12, treble 10. Gives it a much cleaner, even sound. More balance, less horse-kick to the gut.

Yes, that is how pretty much any amp works.

The Rumbles gain doesn't add OD though it seems to add flub and compression past a certain point. I like to balance mine right before the flub and compression. This helps give me more grit when using the amp's OD, and I like that slightly-pushed sound clean.

If you just want things as clean as possible then yeah just drop the gain as far as she'll go. There's the Rumble talk about gain structure that helped me with this. Really though just play with the knobs till it sounds the way you want and leave it.

That's very handsome. Just combos? On a related note, I played the upright through the stack last night with good results.
You give up some tone for volume, but it wasn't too bad.
Had a bunch of good feedback from the audience (As opposed to bad feedback from the amp.)

Here is another tan one for the club ! I had the 500 head a while , and 2 of the 112 cabs , but over kill for the little gigs I do on bass , so ended up with a tan rumble 200 combo , and kept one of the 112, s for now , I may not need it , but ill keep it around a while just in case . :) @Ross McLochness @Linnin I love the weight , I had a GKMB115 for a while , it was only 5 pounds or so heavier , but for some reason , the rumble is ALOT easier to carry ! Maybe the width difference ??

Linnin - how have you been, I have not been here in a while. Upgraded to another P bass and from a Rumble 40 to a Rumble 200.
Good to hear from you @LennyJ! Glad to know you stayed the Fender course. I'm sure you'll love your new Rumble 200. I'm doing OK health wise = no new heart attacks. Mentally, I am still my old surly & snarky self. Got sidelined and put in a talkbass timeout for truth telling, but all-in-all I am just fine and dandy. Was gifted a new Studio 40 out of the blue by an anonymous admirer & benefactor. Well liked by most, and hated by the rest. Same old Linnin :roflmao:
