You can go full on Jaco mode, and you know that's worth it!
Well, I ordered my 500 combo. Got a pretty sweet deal I think. Brand new for $470 shipped? What say the Rumblers? Or should I say my soon to be fellow Rumblers...

Ah Com' On! The heroin addiction and the full blown alcoholism combined with being the greatest bass player the world has ever known?! Pfffft!Never go full Jaco!!

Yeah, I saw that, and I am really waiting for the 'be all-end all' Fender Rumble Stage & Studio thread. I've been told it's coming. For you Rumble Stage and Studio owners, there's a new thread started wanting to discuss your favorite stock presets and if you've done anything to them.
Rumble presets
No doubt they all sound great through the 500. My 2 precisions, my 5 string Jazz and my Hofner club are all very different sounding basses, but my 500c doesn't discriminate. They all sound fantastic.Really digging this Rumble 500. Not matter which bass I plug into it, sounds great! Be it my Fodera, NS Design upright or this The Bass Company bass!

My 200C also does not discriminate. Minor EQ tweaks-mostly having to do w/ room acoustics-and it sounds great with all of my basses, each having its own characteristic tone. I have D'Addario Chromes on 3: '67 TBird, Ibanez AGB200 and 5quier VM Jaguar SS; 1/2 rounds on the Les Paul 5 string; and EB Cobalt flats on the Thunderbird 5 string. No doubt they all sound great through the 500. I see more and more Rumbles being played out in the clubs and bars. Reality strikes fear in the hearts of the evil Rumble bashers and Fender haters.Anybody notice how there’s been considerably less Rumble-bashing in other threads here on TB lately? Used to be that every time a Rumble was mentioned, someone would chime in saying that it was just a toy, that it was unsuitable for professional musicians, etc., but this seems have more or less stopped. Maybe Rumbles are finally getting some of the recognition they deserve. Only took 15 years or so.![]()
Yes. I am a firm believer that an amp pushed hard sounds better than one that isn't. I love my Rumble 200 combo. It fills a 100 person bar with righteous authority all on its own. Just listen for yourself. It's easy. Listen to any amp at low bedroom level. Then take it outside and really open it up with a wide open master. Which one sounds better?Would there ever be an advantage to having a lower wattage setup?

Pro Co S12-3 TS-TS Speaker Cable - 3'What brand and type of quality speaker cable do you recommend?
^^^Correctamundo!^^^ Cheapness causes mud, because muddy sound is cheap and easy to accomplish. Sometimes cheapness is very expensive. Ex: ampeg SVT w/810 'fridge'. Horrendous rubbery blubbery bottom with low mids as muddy as the mighty Mississippi. That's the ampeg sound. Very expensive and as cheap as it gets.
