Fender Rumble Club

That, or, people realized they’re not going to change minds, so there’s no point in bashing other brands or products, like in post 28206. I’m a GK user, but I don’t talk bad about any brand with the exception of any experiences from products I’ve personally owned.
I applaud your discretion and restraint, sir.

As for people on TB realizing that they won’t change people’s minds, I must confess I’ve seen no signs of this at all. :D

Here's my new arrived rumble 40 studio...
With an old friend of mine, a vintage Yamaha bb1600
Just an hour playng with it and a lot of possibilities!
I came from a previous rumble 40 v3

Anybody notice how there’s been considerably less Rumble-bashing in other threads here on TB lately? Used to be that every time a Rumble was mentioned, someone would chime in saying that it was just a toy, that it was unsuitable for professional musicians, etc., but this seems have more or less stopped. Maybe Rumbles are finally getting some of the recognition they deserve. Only took 15 years or so. :D

There seems to be a lot less bashing of every-other-amp-other-than-Fender from the Rumble Evangelist in other threads as well lately....

I don’t think this thread - or any thread - is appropriate for discussing the conduct of individual TB members, whether they’re named in the post or not.

You got a better deal than I did and I bought mine 2 years ago before the price went up...again!
You are gonna love that amp, sir!
I believe you're right. I've been happy with my MB115, but as our band keeps going, I wanted the expandability in case we get an outdoor gig. The expandability and compact light weight were the clinchers for me.

I've been somewhat surprised at the lack of bashing because of my choice(s)in basses. But, it IS the Fender RUMBLE Club. I've never found a better amp for my needs, regardless of price/weight,:hyper: which are serious considerations for being retired($)and 73. Can't lift all that heavy crap any more.:)

I’ve noticed that pictures of Rumbles have shown up in gear posts outside this club much more often, and I think that the Rumble series has now sort of entered the mainstream here at TB, after enough people have had the opportunity to try them out, and realized that they aquit themselves well.

We'll really know their impact when we see them in backlines on the talk shows. Especially when the stagehands get tired of moving "large" (nameless;)) amps.

^^^^^ Shouldn't need to be said in light of the site rules, but just the same I'm glad you did and it can't be said too many times.

I'm a DB player and long time Phil Jones amp user, and getting ready to teach the second week of the Aebersold Summer Jazz workshops here in Louisville. I've been on the faculty of the camps for 21 years, and for the past couple of years the rental bass amps used on stage and in all of the combo rooms have been the new Rumble series amps. I think they do a great job, and they are also crazy light and reasonably priced.

I'm not about to run out and sell my PJB combos in favor of Fender stuff, but if I showed up to a show on the road and found one of these as the provided backline, I wouldn't complain a bit and would know that I'd already made many a joyful noise through these amps. I recommend them to students on a budget all the time.

It’s nearly useless to try to correlate driver size to any tonal qualitites.
It’s way more complex than that.
Box size, porting, horn or not, crossover, and the design specs of the driver matter a lot more.
Tonewood! The ply: Baltic Birch? Maple? Mahogany? or non-ply MDF? Don't forget the color & texture of the tolex and it's effect on psychoacoustics.

I’m also starting to see it more in stores, set up as a test rig for customers to try out basses. When I brought my P in for repairs recently, that was the amp the staff chose for testing it out. And this was an extremely high end place, that specializes in expensive and rare vintage guitars and basses, and a VERY knowledgeable staff.
