The R500 head puts out 350 watts @ 8 ohms(500@ 4)-should be no problem.
so for my amp to run 500@4ohms, i need cabs running @ 4 ohms. The subways are 8 ohms only! how can i get more power is there a way?

I'm no expert on resistance, etc., but 2 cabs would equal 4 ohms, however-are you gonna be running the R500 @ full volume? IMO, check with people who know resistance values well and if using 2 cabs would give you the head's full output, go for it. And if 1 cab gives you enough, then you have the option of using 1 or 2 depending on the situation.<EDIT>I guess @JACink and I were typing at the same time.

Our local Fender dealer has a 500 head on top of a 15" & a 4x10", but I haven't turned it up that loud. It's almost right in front of their counter:
That's exactly what I did. The only problem I found was the increase in volume wasn't discernable enough between the Rumble 200c with a Rumble 115 extension cab and the 410 with the 115 from the 500 head and also it didn't get as warm for my ears. If you play modern hard rock or maybe church music, it is amazing. My likes are Free, Bad Company, Cream, etc. So for me, the 15's and my old P bass have the perfect sound.

I've no idea where to get blasting caps, but, I have a getaway car...uh, except it's a Dodge so we'll have to run by the shop for repairs on the way out of town.
Interesting... I’m pretty much playing the genre of music you are. Maybe not as good of an idea that I thought. That’s another example of how people on TalkBass can give insight and experience with things.
Keep in mind, I'm an old sheetmetal worker so my hearing is really bad! There is just something so powerful about 2 15's that is different, NOT BETTER, just different from 410's. Try it out if you get the chance.
I guess that would be the logical approach. I can always go ahead and buy the 115. If I don’t care for the match with the 410, I can always use it separately for smaller gigs, recordings, or rehearsals.
Demand-the lack thereof. I got mine b4 they disappeared.
Shame on them! Plug in and play. Maybe they’ll get the notion that it’s not a good location for it!
G19Tony posted about an amp cover awhile back. He initially thought he ordered it from MDB, but realized it was from somewhere else. He was very apologetic when I posted that I ordered one from MDB. Anyway, no need for Tony to worry. I ordered an MDB for the 25v3 on 09/09. It arrived on 09/21. A little over $30 after shipping. It isn’t padded vinyl; it’s made out of pretty sturdy denier. No padding. No pocket. The creases from shipping will flatten out. It is very well made and a perfect fit. It is pretty light. It suits me just fine and will protect the little guy that spends a lot of time in the back of my car from scratches and dust. I like it a lot.
