Fender Rumble Club

How about getting it directly from Fender?
(I tried pasting the link to the relevant page, but it doesn’t seem to work, although it works fine when I paste it into my browser. Never mind. You’ll find it on fender. com under Parts/Amp Coverings & Grille Cloth).
Thank you.. I did see this. But it [pic from Fender site attached] appears to be the old style for 60's Twin Reverbs, etc. , green tint like the stuff I already bought.
Anyone actually purchase current production Silver Black grill cloth? Thanks in advance.

I have a friend with a new Rumble who got that sample pack and one of them did match to his satisfaction. He ordered a roll and re-grilled his older extension cab. It looks like a match to all who've seen it. But, yeah, YMMV.

I'm getting my 200c tonight! Can't wait to try it out. I'm new to bass, and kind of splurged and skipped the $100 practice amp thing :bassist:

Can't wait to see what kind of sounds I can make with it. I also think my Green Rhino is begging to be plugged into it.

Btw, anyone ever try any keys/synth with one of these amps?
I haven’t but I love playing my guitar through my 200c!

If you go back and read my question, I specifically asked for the info not found on paper. Why did you take so much time and effort to not be helpful? You also suggested I buy specific models that are irrelevant to me... I already own a rumble 150 combo and don’t care how a v2 and v3 head sound through a matching set of v3 cabs.
Buy one!! You get all the info you’ll need!!

You're not going to get much help when you rag on someone trying to help. So you didn't get the answer you wanted? Ask again with different wording.
In this particular case, trying do describe tone in text is impossible. You don't necessarily have to buy anything if you can find one to try out. That is the only way you will really know.
We Texans are known for being friendly. Please try to live up to that standard.
I hope you find what you're looking for.

Wow... just wow. He was in no way trying to help me. He implied that he *could* help me, but wasn’t willing to do so until I wrote a “comprehensive comparison“ in addition to purchasing thousands of dollars worth of gear. I also stated in my post that there is nowhere for me to try the gear locally. All I asked was if anyone knew the differences between the v2 and v3 that aren’t readily available on spec sheets. (Example: “ in my experience the DI on the version two can be a bit noisy“, or “the version three seems to take pedals better than version two“... things like that)

Yes, I used the search function exhaustively on both this forum and Google. Unfortunately, most of the results were for rumble V3 vs Ampeg V2, as the two seem to be direct competitors at the moment. I went out of my way to search the Internet for what information I could find, and someone who actually possesses the knowledge, took the time to call me lazy and insult me rather than help me. I’m not sure why I’m the one being reprimanded for “not being nice“. Especially when I had other members sending me private messages apologizing for his behavior. Maybe it’s possible that this was all misconstrued over text, But several of us got the impression that he was just being an Internet tough guy and intentionally unhelpful. It doesn’t really matter because our lives shouldn’t revolve around Internet chat rooms anyway. My apologies for bringing my question here.

I live in Alaska, and up here we are extremely limited on our musical instruments and equipment choices so I rely heavily upon our brothers and sisters on TB. I hope I don't bother folks with my questions as I can't go to a GC or Music go Round store to check stuff out because they don't exist here. I also can't rely on the manufacturer's customer reviews so I trust the folks on TB. With the one exception that most of us know, I have never had a problem with getting information. Hope you don't either.

Thank you for the kind words and understanding. The military has stuck me in many remote nooks and crannies of the earth, and I think sometimes people don’t realize the conveniences they take for granted in a bigger city. That being said, I spent a year living in a tent in South Korea, yet was walking distance from a couple great music stores with great selection and top notch techs! It was crazy to be in two separate worlds at once.

Holy cow! I'd never have guessed South Korea would have a music store!

We welcome the questions. Sorry about this whole thing. I really hope you get the answers you are looking for. Unfortunately, I have little experience with v2. I did own a 15 I used for bedroom practice. It is now a v3 25. The only comparison in sound I can think of is the v3 has a more natural tube(ish) sound. The v2 tone was more like the old lead sled very SS sound.

That’s actually the type of answer I was looking for. I picked up my Rumble 150 in a trade while out on the road. They wanted 150 bucks for it, and they also had a new rumble 100 for 300 bucks. I could have sworn that the rumble 100 sounded better, and it was definitely lighter and prettier… But the guitar center I was in was packed with loud guitarists and I decided to go with the 150 because it would probably be more gig worthy, and I liked saving $150. Now I find the tone a little bland and wish I had gone with something different. Since I’ve vaguely remember the v3 sounding better, and also because I can’t try anything out before I buy it, I’m basically asking if ordering a v3 rumble will be more of the same or a definite improvement.?.?. Only time will tell!

If you think you'll gig with it, get the 200 combo, because it can accept extension cabinets. You could put another 15" under it & have a gig-worthy rig.

buy pre-owned & save some bucks:

I have the R200C which I'm real happy with And a R112 extension cab which makes me even happier.

I have a 200c with a Rumble 115 cab. I get all 200 watts at 4 ohms. It is probably the closest you can get to a vintage tube amp from a solid state. With a matching 115 the sound is perfect in my limited experience.

Something just struck me. The Stage 800 has arrived on these shores, but the matching 210 cab has not. It may or may not be difficult to find one in the future - time will tell.

A lot of us own the 500c and matching 210 cab. And one easy way you could match up a Stage 800 and an old-style 210 if you already own a Rumble 500c would be to simply swap the grille, corner protectors and handle with those of the Stage 800!

This would leave you with a badass-looking 500c, and a classic-looking Stage 800 with a matching 210, without having to get a second cab.

I am happy that this thread is back on track. To @Texican, I can say that the Rumble Club pointed me in the right direction when I first joined TB after almost 50 years away from bass playing. I played a tube amp with 2-15's back then and wanted the same sound with today's equipment.

I don't have the money or the physical stamina for more expensive, or heavier equipment, but I do know the sound that I wanted. The recommendations from the Rumble Club and my experience with trying various products led me to buying a Rumble 200 Combo. I was so happy with that, I recently purchased a 1-15 Rumble cabinet, in case I ever play out again. I also bought a Rumble 25 Combo for practicing in our RV.

Long story, short...everyone's needs, expectations and personalities are different. In the short year that I have been a member of TB, I have learned a lot by asking questions and following posts of other members. If it wasn't for TB, I would still be back in the '60's. Yes, I have had some "run-ins" but that is to be expected with so many members...the point I would like to make is that we can help each other, just so long as we understand that everyone is "different" in one way or another ;).
