Fender Rumble Club

Delivery of my Rumble 500 v3 combo pending. Merry Christmas to me from my wife and in laws!

She has no clue how loud this can get...!

Can I get my Rumble club number now or should I wait until I can post up pics?
Welcome to the Fender Rumble Club, Dave, you are member #304 :hyper:
Your new Rumble 500 is going to blow you away with tons of fabulous Fender tone. :bassist:

 Rumbles Rock! :smug:

Wondering if anyone has a schematic for the latching pedal for overdrive on/off on the Rumble v3? I'm trying to find a smaller footprint one (or have one made for me) than the one Fender seems to intend.
By chance has anyone made their own footswitch for the Drive? The Fender switch is cool but a little high, and I have some parts laying about if it's not terribly complicated. Found some info online for other Fenders, but nothing on the Rumble.
You two need to get together. Any Fender single button footswitch will do. I like this $30 model.

Speaking of pedals, since my amp hasn't arrived yet, I understand that there is a footswitch jack on these amps (Rumble V3 500 combo). What does the footswitch control, and is it included or an add on option / accessory that I have to buy later on?
It turns the onboard overdrive on and off. The pedal Linnin linked to is more or less the default Fender item intended to use. It is an additional item, doesn't come with it.

Even if you don't use overdrive, it's a handy feature, as you could keep the drive setting low and raise the level knob so you have a volume boost when you need it.

See the above post, Dave. No a footswitch doesn't come with your Rumble, so you have to buy one. It switches the Overdrive on & off. You don't absolutely have to have one unless you are using the overdrive in the middle of a tune where you need to quickly punch it in while playing. Otherwise you can just turn it on and off by hand.

Is that sturdy enough to handle a heavy footed player? I'm a big guy and that thing looks like it is made of plastic. Is there a sturdier option available? It looks to be a simple on / off or momentary contact switch.... Are there good substitutes?
Go ahead and read some of the reviews. "Heavy duty. Looks like I could drive a truck over it without a scratch. Great price too!" "I bought this to switch the overdrive circuit on my Fender Rumble 200. It works perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised by its heft and build quality." "Heavy duty footswitch! No sliding on any surface. Well made." They even left my review of the previous model that the new one replaced. Still going strong 2 1/2 years later!

No schematic needed. It's just a latching spst footswitch, connected across a standard 1/4" shielded guitar cable.

Nope. You need an on/off latching switch. The cable that you use is a guitar cable. The fender one I post d has the cord attached, but some you need a separate cord, which may or may not come with it.
Or buy the switch and stomp box separately And build one yourself, but it's probably just as cheap to buy the whole setup pre-made.

For example:

Touching the wires of the guitar cable together is the same mechanical thing as wiring them to a SPST latching footswitch and clicking it to the "on" position.

I have the parts laying around. I'm trying to understand mechanically/electrically what is happening so that I can wire one up correctly, using an LED if possible. The schematics I've seen on other Fender switches show them powering an LED through the cable. This would mean it's carrying more than just a passive signal, that the direction of current matters, and that a schematic would be helpful.

My rumble 100. The first amp I ever got 9 years ago when I started playing. I like the new vintage styled ones a lot better though.

Ah yes! The good old V1 Rumble 100! And 11 years later you still see plenty around. Go ahead and buy some new V3 Rumble gear. ;) In the meantime welcome to the Fender Rumble Club, Rugmaster :woot: You are member #306 :hyper:

Managed to score a Rumble 25 used. Lovely sounding bit of kit, great overdrive circuit and I really like how it compresses for a tube-ish tone. Now thinking of moving over to a 500 head from my LMII, anyone know how much power and headroom these things have compared to the Markbass?
