Fender Rumble Club

Well color me red with embarrassment. I Just measured the lip around the grille cloth of my Neo and my Rumble; the Rumble lip is 5/8 and has two layers of tolex . The Neo is just over 3/4 with the same two layers of tolex.

If anyone's inclined to "do the math":

When you guys are using the Rumble for guitar, are you making many changes to the EQ section in regards to bass?

I engage bright mode:

Bass: 11 o’clock
Low mid: 11 o’clock
High mid: 1 o’clock
Treble: 1 o’clock

This is just a starting point, I tweak as needed. I play fender guitars and like crisp / bright tone.

I doubt if the instrument input can handle a line-level input, but the FX Return input can.

Korg Monologue out ==> Rumble 200 RETURN in

You'll need an RCA to 1/4" mono cable.

Note that this bypasses the tone shaping and EQ circuits and just uses the power amp.

Anyone run a synth thru their Rumble? I know the sound will be "different", but will I blow anything up?

Rumble 200c and Korg Monologue btw
I plugged my old POS keyboard into my 200c input but I turned all volume controls on the amp and the keyboard to 'off', then brought them up slowly. For a POS(piano/harpsichord), it sounded pretty good.

On a 40 there's no need to, but on a 100 you'd need to dial out some bass & maybe low-mids as well.
That 12" in the 100 had extra bass, but also sacrifices some high end & punchiness.

Recently I thought I'd upgrade to a 100, since I no longer play guitar, but the clarity was just missing, in comparison to the 40.

For months I sat around here online shopping for 2x10" or 2x8" to pair up with a tube amp or hybrid amp, & back to it after returning the Rumble 100.
Although I enjoy playing guitar through my Rumble I recently pulled the Zzounds trigger and picked up a Marshall DSL 20R Tube Combo! WOW!!:thumbsup:

I bought a Rumble 40 specifically because I could play guitar on it as well, but the Rumble 100 doesn't work well, unless you back off the bass & low-mids. You're still lacking some highs & punch with that Eminence 12", IME.

Since you said the 100 is less than ideal, what about a 200 vs the 40 you got for a guitar? Would you buy a 40 again over the 200?

My memory about the 200 is foggy, because I never needed that much power. I did compare them all at one point & if I was going big & wanted to play guitar also, I'd go for the 500 combo or a 200 head with a 2x10" cabinet.

I convinced a guitar & bass player to buy a 200 head & he is absolutely loving it!

I don't think I agree with this. I would experiment by starting with the gain all the way down and the synth volume very low and slowly increase it.
