Seems like a “trick” alright. The way that guy popped that neck loose after loosening the neckplate screws. Hello tech!!!
My 'trick' is quite different.

Step 1: Place J bass in gig bag and take to Arizona Music Pro.
Step 2: Have the ace tech at AMP do it.
Step 3: Pay for the service and drive home.

There's a pro trick that involves popping the neck out of the pocket without total removal that is best left to the pros if you've never done it successfully yourself.
Thanks for the advice. Brand new, awesome bass. Getting those Precision Flats put on so it will need a setup. I’ll call the guy and set up an appointment.

 :roflmao:  I've only been doing it that way for 45+ years.

A good thing about flats it that once settled in the truss rod requires almost no adjustments. After the initial adjustment with the first setup for my Precision flats, I've had to make very minor adjustments twice over the last 5+ years that set has been on my '76 Precision. Not Too Shabby!

The only phone number I have now is my mobile (Android). I use a paid app called Nomorobo. It really reduces the number of rings I get. I, too, do not answer any number that's not in my contact list.

Stop robocalls and telemarketers with Nomorobo

Also available for iPhones. Free for landlines!

The culprit behind my barrage of calls?

CenturyLink

Avoid them like the plague.
I have an iphone now with a call blocker, and something called a CPR CallBlocker for my voip line that is my old land line number..works well!

I used to live 45 minutes from Anaheim.

Ditto, in San Pedro.
I was there for the big earthquake in 94 & the riots about two years prior.

We went to Angels Stadium to watch the ball game & later I would come back there to watch a KISS Tribute band.
Sort of coincidentally I saw the real KISS at the Troubadour around the same time!

Oh, I saw The Cure with Dinosaur Jr. the night of the big quake.

Sounds like your life is revolved around big quakes. Be careful.

I was only there for the ONE big one & a few tiny aftershocks. The riots were no fun, though.
Moved down to San Diego almost immediately after the Northridge quake, but got to see Corrosion of Conformity at the Whisky the weekend before departure.

Later I would read Peter Criss' autobiography where he wrote that he almost took his own life the night after the quake. He was at a really low point in his life & that quake just put salt on the wounds. Apparently his apartment was uninhabitable.
