Hey! Thanks, I am still messing with things like strings at the moment but it is getting to be real good. I rewired the Mustang to a Telecaster tone circuit so now I have some tone control. I put an entry into the Rumble Tone spreadsheet - look for "Oz tone" near the bottom.

I should add that I play with a pick (the rounded part, not the pointy part) midway between the P and the J pickups generally.
Yes, it would be good to put that in the "Tone Description" or in the "Usage Notes", either one.
Here's a backwards question... This isn't a "can I" question, but rather a "what does it sound like" question... I'm interested in putting a guitar tube amp head on top of my Rumble 210 cab - anyone done this? The thought is to not have to buy a separate speaker cabinet when I want to play the Strat or the Teley. I'm wondering why that would sound any different than running through a house PA system...
i played a gig this weekend with my rumble 500 at it handled it really well.

Was using both my Rumbles last weekend, finally remembered to take a picture.
Top is v3 combo 200 (1x15) horn on, bottom is v3 combo 500 (2x10) horn off.
Left is fretless jazz frankenbass (active preamp, replaced tuners/bridge/pickups/etc) w/ flats.
Right is early-80s MIJ (w/ American serial number from factory) P-bass w/ rounds.
These two rumbles can really crank out some volume. I run at low gain (0-2) and my master was at 12:00. This was for a 5 piece (3 guitar) hard rock/metal band. They play loud. I had no problem hearing myself.
I don't dread loadout anymore - I can carry both amps to my truck in one trip.

Hey Mr Riz! I have never actually tried flats (apart from a brief flirtation with tape-wounds 30-some years ago), but I am moving away from the extra-live sound of the Roto 99's that I used to use. I have just tried D'Addario Ground-wounds and now I have GHS Pressure-wounds on the Mustang and I rather like the sound of them both with the Ground-wounds being probably the better of the two. Suggestions very welcome. If it helps I like the sound that Joe Dart gets.

I had a question about my 500 combo. I’ve been getting some extra hum lately and I’m not sure if it’s always been there or if it’s something new. I’ve noticed that when I disconnect the input and turn volume all the way up, there is a distinct fuzz or hum. Same when I turn up the treble or when I turn on the tweeter. Is this typical or am I gonna have to bring it back to the folks at GC?
I also noticed I get a lot of hum when I plug the combo into my DI through the line out. It might be my Geddy Lee since I’ve been told Jazz pickups tend to have a little hum to them but I’m not so sure. Anyone know if this will be an issue down the line when I start gigging and plug into a PA?

Quick check...
Dime both Jazz pickups (to get them to the same level). Is the hum reduced/eliminated? Jazz pups should humbuck themselves when set to the same output level.
If the hum level doesn't change, then it's probably not the Geddy Lee.
