Fender Rumble Club

I finally gave in to the GAS and ordered a Rumble 100 v3 :D I have been playing amp-less for quite a few years now, just using Aguilar TLC->Aguilar Tone Hammer DI->Interface->Headphones. Can't wait to actually feel the bass rumble when I play. It will also be fun to compare the DI vs Tone Hammer for recording, and to try the Tone Hammer into the effects loop.
maybe post some photos when you get it!

Out with the old (cheap plastic/bubble gum font worthy of a child's toy), in with the new (all medal and chrome/legitness worthy of an adult's bass cab)! \m/ And under $11!!

Bought a Rumble Studio today new/marked down at GC. I just couldn't pass it up. I had my patches from the Stage on there in minutes. Brought both amps to rehearsals planning on leaving Stage there and bring Studio home.

We tried the Studio through the PA just for kicks. It sounded amazing. So I used it the whole night. Took the Stage hone. Really great series.

Hi TB
DSCN2625.JPG

Here's a pic of my Rumble 500 and '71 Musicmaster enjoying a spring morning together in the garden. This is my regular gigging rig. Can this combo be bettered
for under £1000
? - it sounds amazing, a single journey from the car, and real mojo - a partnership made in heaven, even if there's a
bit of an age gap
!
My only gripe with the Rumble is the naff plastic badge it comes with, replaced here with a slightly more acceptable plastic badge.
May I join the club?

3 simple steps to making your Rumble sound it's best!

I recently got a new Fender rumble 500 combo, despite 25 yrs of thump'n, it's the first new cab I've ever bought. I have always purchased used gear. *My standard gigging rig is a 1998 David Eden WT-400 with Ashdown 210 and Ashdown 410 cabs.

That being said, right out of the box I could hear the "newness" and strained tightness and fartiness of the speakers so I did a 12 hour burn in/frequency test and it's the best decision I could have made to get the combo sounding great and ready for gigging with minimal effort.

I burned in the speakers for 12 hours: 4 hours a night for 3 nights in a row and let me tell you...it sounds like a totally different combo and the tone and speaker response now is night/day difference and totally amazing. Here is what I did:

1) Four hours of this video, SAFE volume level:
2) Four hours of this video, SAFE volume level:
3) Then I used a looper for four hours. I recorded finger style (which I play 99% of the time), a lil pick and some slap, turned the volume all the way down, turned gain, drive and every EQ knob to full, engaged the horn and all 3 buttons (bright, contour, vintage), then slowly added enough volume to make it as loud as it could SAFELY handle (rattling every loose item in my entire house and knocking pix off the walls...haha).

***CAUTION: Do NOT leave your speakers unattended, monitor very very closely and use some common sense...the intent it to safely wear in your speakers, not to blow them!***

The next night I ran the looper again and adjusted everything to find the tone I like (only took me about 20 min) and vwala...it was like majic. What a difference it made!

I just can't believe how good this lil damn beast of a combo sounds by itself let alone with an ext cab. I'm still reluctant to say it, but I am a "combo convert" now. Thanks Fender!

The time and effort was, without a doubt, 100% worth it. It is something I will always recommend to everyone now. I will probably do it all over again one more time for good measure.

Keep thump'n. Peace, Rizillin \m/

I can't hear a thing from your vids bro.

@leerod054 You won't be able to hear those low frequencies on a phone. Use an aux cable to connect your phone to the combo, and I promise, you WILL hear and feel it and...you'll definitely see it moving your speakers too if you remove the speaker cover, which I recommend so you can closely monitor them! Be careful! Start at low volume, which with Rumble combos is controlled by the source (cell phone etc), NOT the amp knobs...those do not work and are automatically disengaged when the aux is connected. So start with your phone media volume all the way down then slowly bring it up. I found the 500 could handle both those vidz at full volume on my phone, but clearly that won't be the case for everyone. Thanks.

Hey man, I've been waiting for someone to pick it up so I can hear some thoughts on that LT25 baby, so.. What do you think?

I’ll be putting it through it’s paced the next few days as I have plenty of free time. Shall report back my findings, but initial impressions just from an hour or so of demoing in the shop = grin muscle work-out!

The 25 has a little bit less low end grunt than the 40 (to be expected), but for a practice/small hole amp that won’t wake the neighbours its the nicest sounding Îve had in awhile.

It beat out the Ampeg and Hartke I was going back and forth on. Different beasts all of them, but I really like the emulators on the pre-sets. Opens up a world of possibilities for sure.

I’ll record a standard bass line at various pre-sets with all other variables identical and post them here in a few days for anyone interested.

For the convenience of The Club, Rizillin allowed me to add his pic and the Amazon link to the Fender blackface badge to the Rumble Wiki (link in my signature) in the Fender Rumble Modifications section. So, you can easily find it later!
:woot:
So, now @Rizillin and @NHM both have the elusive 2-screw flat plastic logo badge that is OEM to the Rumbles, but almost impossible to find by those who want exact replacement for a broken one! Auction, anyone?

Rumble On!
