Fender Rumble Club

A question, I have never used extension cabs before....

If I hook the new 210 extension to my 500 combo would I get all 500 watts out? The combo alone only gives 350 to it's internal 210. Also, if I were to get a 410 cab, would I in essence have a 500 watt (full power) 610 rig?

You got it right.But,careful with the compination of the 500 combo with the two internal 10" and the external 4x10 cab.The one side of the amp works hard with the 2x10 and the other don't.

I don't quite get that argument... They are being fed off of a common point on the amplifier circuit. The total power going down the wires is whatever the amp can provide at a given impedance level. So in the case of the Rumble 500, 500 watts into 4 ohms. The cabling in the path as long as it does not produce its own impedance, should be invisible as it were to current draw, so in the scenario of say the 500 combo, and the 410 cab, each speaker should receive 1/6 of the signal.

At least that is the way it was explained to my rusty brain way back when in EE courses in college... That was a long time ago, and I haven't put that info to much use over the years...

For my purposes, it would be one of logistics of moving a heavier amp and cab. I love the sound of 210 combos, and being able to add another 2 to the mix is just a big loud bonus for me...

When the 2x10 begin to fart or distort,the other 4x10 will be in the sweet spot.And maybe you will not be aware of it.These is the main reason why we must keep the load in balance.
And,the 2x10 speakers of combo receives 250w, 2x125w.The other end also receives 250w or 4x62.5w.You can see the deference?;)

If the Rumbles have only one speaker output the case is like you said,in serial mode.The ohms drop point is internal.When you make the ohm point split outside of the amp,then the each side receives the 50% of the signal,watts and ohms,in parallel mode.

No. The actual physics involved are far more complicated. Maybe Steve will give us a better run down. Here's my simplified bass player's non-technical version.
Each load is 8 ohms. No matter how many or few speakers. In the case of the Rumble 500 combo and the new Rumble 210 it is easy to see that each will receive half the wattage or 250 watts each. If we set the combo on top of the Rumble 115 instead then the 115 will get 250 watts. If we put the combo on top of the Rumble 410, the 410 gets 250 watts. Each 8 ohm load gets half the wattage. The number of speakers is immaterial to the amp or the watts.

Yes,two cabs always receive 50% power each.And each cab resist to amp 50% ohms each.
We talk here for the Rumbles.Rumbles have one 8 ohm output for the combo and one internal connection 8 ohm.So 8ohm + 8ohm = 4 ohm.Heads have two outputs 8 ohms each.You can't connect any other cab but only 8 ohm cab to any of the speaker outs.SO 8+8=4 ohms.This tell us that the connections is all of them parallel.In parallel connections always divide by 2 the ohms,and the power.

FWIW, I still prefer the 210 combo + 210 cab. And I suspect this is going to be a popular configuration for those that want to add an extension cab. Simultaneous farting as it were...

Yes very popular, but no farting! These new Eminence 10's are tough and can take it without distress. Plus you'll have an extremely attractive (both visually & sonically) diagonally staggered 410 vertical array.

For those that want a light weight super compact mini-stack, the new Rumble 112 cabinets are just the thing! The 12" woofers have to be newly custom designed by Eminence specifically for this cabinet. As much as I love my V2 Rumble 112 Neos, I really want to hear a pair of these new 112's hooked up to the Rumble heads. I'd like to hear the difference between the Rumble 200 & 500 heads through this stack at stage volume. I'm going to predict that they are spectacular! :D
 
Yes, I was thinking about a pair of the new 2 x 10 cabinets with the new Bassman 500 hybrid head. That combination should be awesome. However, I want to stack the cabinets vertically so I have to warm up to the idea of the overhang of the head (with the head being a couple of inches wider than the cabinets).
