Oh nothing, just another flawless gig with the Rumble 500 and my blue Jazz bass.

There are only three places that might work. I wouldn't use input 1. This signal from the 500 Effects send would be too hot. You might try input 2. The manual says it for for a bass with hot pickups, but it may also be a bit hot. The other option is to get a special cable that has a 1/4" jack on the end for the 500 and a pair of RCA jacks on the other end. I think the 1/4" to RCA is the best option. It will go directly to the power amp in the 75. I know they make the cables. I have one, but I don't remember where I got it.

Hi Dav. I think you've misunderstood my question. What you have suggested is the opposite of what I wanted to try.
I wanted to know if I could use the LINE OUT jack of the Rumble 75C to the EFFECTS RETURN of the Rumble 500C safely. I dont want to use the EFFECTS SEND of the 500 Dav.
I know the 75C (with its similar tone controls) would probably control what I hear from the 500 but I just wanted to know if its safe to do, as suggested in a similar explanation to StudioGC I believe it was, although he was using a Rumble40 going into the 500. I also realise input 2 (-6dB pad) of the 75C is for active basses/hot pups too and is the one I generally use with my active basses.

lol GP...if only Radio Shack (Dick Smith here in Aust) was still in operation. Not many viable choices left for electronic supplies etc..JayCar is one such Australian supplier. I miss Radio Shack stuff..when it was available here in Australia it was under the brand name of TANDY. So many great businesses gone under..err down under.

Howdy fellow rumblers, I'm thinking about getting a 1x10 (does fender even do 1x10 bass cabs?) or some other small cab for practice at home/less rowdy performances amp duties instead of using my existing 4x10 cab. Or my 1x15 Peavy combo...I rather like my neighbors and would LOVE to keep it that way.
So anyone have any favorites or suggestions for the 1x10 cab category that my Rumble500 won't turn into a smoldering pile?

I’d suggest getting and using a Rumble 40. Same preamp as your Rumble 500.

Just turn the bass and low mids to “zero” and disengage the “Vintage” button (if you happen to like using that). That’s what I do and it works out just fine. The neighbors won’t know you’re practicing and it’s all you really need to practice.

I have both a rumble 40 and studio 40. They are light weight. And sound great !

Rumble 40 is $199 USD new almost everywhere in the USA. 19 lbs. of goodness. Cheaper and more readily available than most decent 1x10 cabs I’ve seen.

The fact that most if not all of them have closed was the basis for my snarky suggestion. It also may have been where those cables were last seen.

TANDY was the parent company, IIRC. There own brand of very basic computers was sold under that name. It was 'basically' a filing system with a screen-at least the one we have(in a box). My bitter half has some info in there she'd like to save.........someday.[Prolly not]

If you can find a used one, an Orange SP210 is an isobaric 2x10". In terms of physical size and volume it essentially behaves like a 1x10", but has much, much better low end frequency response. Very robust construction. It'll easily handle a 500W head. I use one as a studio amp and for small coffee shop gigs.

If you could splurge for a Studio 40, you'd have the perfect practice amp as well as being able to use it (and all of it's bells and whistles) in front of your 500+410 rig when you need more beef.

I should add that I also have a 1x12 combo amp and I'm not looking for a third combo persay, but I did enjoy the studio 40 I was playing with at GC a while back. The hunt for a smol cab continues...
