Fender Rumble Club

IMG_1469.JPG

Howdy fellow rumblers, I'm thinking about getting a 1x10 (does fender even do 1x10 bass cabs?) or some other small cab for practice at home/less rowdy performances amp duties instead of using my existing 4x10 cab. Or my 1x15 Peavy combo...I rather like my neighbors and would LOVE to keep it that way.
So anyone have any favorites or suggestions for the 1x10 cab category that my Rumble500 won't turn into a smoldering pile?

If you can find a used one, an Orange SP210 is an isobaric 2x10". In terms of physical size and volume it essentially behaves like a 1x10", but has much, much better low end frequency response. Very robust construction. It'll easily handle a 500W head. I use one as a studio amp and for small coffee shop gigs.
If you're looking outside of Fender cabs, check out the Revsound 1x8, 2x8 and 1x10.
You can call Dave, the builder, to discuss what would fit your needs.

A Rumble 25. It retails for $99.00. You can't get a 1x10 cab of any kind for less. It really is a great little practice amp.

TANDY was the parent company, IIRC. There own brand of very basic computers was sold under that name. It was 'basically' a filing system with a screen-at least the one we have(in a box). My bitter half has some info in there she'd like to save.........someday.[Prolly not]
The Tandy name is a leather retailer that bought out Radio shack in 1963. At that time, there were only 9 Radio Shack stores and the company was almost in bankruptcy. Tandy still exists. They sell leather and leatherworking tools and accessories.

Is it the original box? You know how important that is. My first computer was a Tandy Model 4.

Maybe you didn't get the reference. Some time ago, someone got really upset and was ranting about a pedal he bought on TB classifieds and it came without the original box. It became a subject of ridicule for a while.
Oh, I remember that. I just hadda walk 20' feet to confirm that it is in the original box! We tend to be somewhat 'pack-ratty' here. I mean, I have the receipt for the Kasino I bought in 70.

Gotta agree with the Studio 40 suggestions. I'm in love with my Stage 800, and if you're a big fan of your 500 you'll find the Rumble V3 preset on the Studio to your liking. The V3 Vintage preset sounds just like the Rumble 500 I had. I might be biased, as I never turned the vintage switch off the whole time I had the 500 though. Well I did once for like ten seconds and was like Nope!

Tested out the post effect DI on the Stage this weekend through the mixer I frankensteined together. Must say I'm impressed. Only problem was the bass rattled all the switches I have shimmed up in the power mixer loose again and cut out the signal to the speakers. Won't be a problem when I get the K12.2s though.

The Rumble 25 is an 8" combo that is surprisingly loud if you want it but nonetheless it's got a great sound for practice with a 100 dollar price tag.

On the Rumble Studio 40, can you record the AUX IN signal with the looper? How about audio streamed via Bluetooth?
Can't confirm but I'll try it out on the 800 and let you know what I find out. Wouldn't get my hopes up though, the aux-in and Bluetooth stream bypasses the entire signal chain if I'm not mistaken. Pretty sure it defaults to the studio pre-amp preset.

Recently I got an email from some random company stating that I won a contest. I opened up the email and then the memories came back; I had entered a songwriting competition to write lyrics for Tim Hicks, a successful country artist, and the chance to have my lyrics in his fan remake of “What a Song Should Do”. Anyways, I guess Tim chose my lyrics himself and my verse and chorus will be featured in the song when it releases! Not rumble related but I just wanted to share this with some of my musical friends as others my age don’t understand how cool it is for my work to be appreciated by someone like him.

Rumble related topic:

Use preset 60 on your stage or studio,
Turn off the reverb and then mess with the blackbox controls a little and then you have Justin Chancellor on “Sober” by Tool. I use that setting in my grunge band quite a bit.

Thought I read somewhere that distortion was hard on tweeters? I keep a pretty clean sound most of the time so I never really questioned it. I leave mine on most of the time.
It just helps get that really trebly tone with the grunge he uses. I wouldn’t recommend driving it for too long. I only use it for one song then turn it off so I blend back into the mix
