You should stay away from those places.

So essentially Dav I could do the same thing using my Rumble 75Combo LINE OUT and using its EQ section into my Rumble 500Combo Effects Return without any ill effect...so to speak?? The Rumble 75C has that wonderful 12" Fender Special Design Driver in it and always sounds great if I use the 75 combo anywhere.I'm not to familiar with the Studio 50, so I can't be specific. You will want to find an Effects Send or some other output with a line signal. Run a cable from there to the Effects Return jack of the 500. You will by bypassing the preamp section of the 500 so all your EQ will be on the 40.
@BassCliff:
I've been using my Fender Rumble 40 for some gigs (as a stage monitor) but as you can imagine it's not really cutting it.
It's my firm belief that the vintage button should just be the default circuitry. It's awesome.I had the Vintage button engaged and horn on full.
@StudioGC has a Rumble 40, not a Studio 40.Does the Studio 40 not have post effect DI out like the Stage 800? Should just be able to run through the PA with an XLR.
Just bought a cheapy Mackie ''12 channel'' mixer for the mean time while I save up for the touchmix30, about to test out the DI on the 800 this evening. Man I almost freaked out, all the presets were sounding super distorted and cutting out. Left the Ray4 on the stand with the cable plugged in all week lol. Took me a few minutes to figure it out.
Ah, must have overlooked that with all the studio 40 talk. Those didn't have a DI out at all did they? The 200c and the 500c had pre-EQ out. Yep, time for an upgrade. Probably oughta keep the Rumble 40 though if you have neighbors lol. I rent a duplex so I have to hang a Free Miller Highlife ➡ sign between our doors on practice night.@StudioGC has a Rumble 40, not a Studio 40.
“Well, that’s very different. Never mind.”
I have one. It has a post-EQ line out, but no effects loop.Ah, must have overlooked that with all the studio 40 talk. Those didn't have a DI out at all did they? The 200c and the 500c had pre-EQ out. It's actually my first Rumble 500. I had a Rumble 100 (I think...maybe it was the 200) and then moved on to a Markbass which I couldn't bond with. I got a Rumble 40 for a tight fitting Christmas gig on a barge on the Thames in London (I DI into the PA) and that sold me back on the Rumble tone. So, Studdy, does this make your 3rd Rumble 500 combo? Plus the Rumble 40!?!
.
Whoa! Did I miss him getting a Rumble Studio 40, too? I thought he had the plain 40?
.
Yeah, that's right. Like you did with your first 2 Rumble 500 combos. But, why do that? The addition of the 40 to the 500 would be negligible.
But, if you do have a Rumble Studio 40, then, YEAH!, run the Studio's left channel (mono) Effects Send to the Effects Return of the R500c to get all the great sounds and effects thru the 500.

Let the mating beg.in. Double Rumble 500's tied together with "effects send" to "effects return".
Sounds pretty darn good!
I have always been using my Sansamp Bass Driver DI with past amps, but this is the first amp (s) where I don't feel I need it.
I presume with this arrangement I'm getting 350 watts (x2) with this arrangement? Anyone?

Well I'll be. I thought I had a Rumble 100 before.....How much time do you have on your hands??Oh? Well, who was this a few years ago, back in March of '16?

You MUST be a detective in your day job?
Hmm. Since I (almost) never use the OD[1 song], I'll hafta look into that next time I practice.Ok guys/gals... I have discovered that using the overdrive on my R500 head sounds better with the “Vintage” button NOT engaged... muddy kind of “flabby” sound with it on. Vintage off, much more appealing overdrive. When not using the overdrive (which is mainly how I play), the Vintage button is always engaged. Anyone else experience this?
Cool, thanks. I rarely use it also. I was just fiddling around with it last night and noticed this.Hmm. Since I (almost) never use the OD[1 song], I'll hafta look into that next time I practice.
Fiddling can wind up inadvertently giving you the exact sound you were trying to find.Cool, thanks. I rarely use it also. I was just fiddling around with it last night and noticed this.
