Fender Rumble Club

I was thinking stacking them. Afraid the top one may come tumbling down leaned back. lolol. Yikes
I have used the 200c on top of the 112 on the Ampwedge as recently as 2 weeks ago-no problem. The Ampwedge has 'steps' so you can vary the degree of tilt. But here's another possibility: R100 A on floor; R100 B on Apwedge atop A. You'd still have coupling between the rear of B to A with tilt toward yer ears. If I use the 200c by itself, I usually use one of the other stands pictured but for the stack, it's the Ampwedge.

Meet my Tiltback Halfstack (tm)-sounds like the name of a country song.
My MudStand came today:

I think it fits really well and the magnetic locking system saves the day:

So we’re looking at 220 watts through a 115 aimed directly at my face!
I’ll take it!

What a difference in clarity. I saw that I had the horn on full before and now I’ve turned it completely off. Sounds fantastic!
I may even get to use it with a drummer today!

FWIW, the only time the horn is on is when I run the CD player through the amp.[and when I forget to turn it off at the end of the break]

Had my first experience with a full - best of the best, professional, super expensive amp rig today... a a big ampeg cab, and a Mesa engineering head. Wow! It was so crisp and punchy, it made u stick out in the mix where it needed, and had a nice not too low bass to it that smoothened things out.

Part of my is curious if a rumble head and cab of equal or close enough speaker config and watts, would perform the same way?

Anyone else experienced similar?

I couldn’t tell if the ampeg cab was a neo cab, or an svt, cos they look very similar. I’m using it again today I’ll try find out.

The head looked like a Mesa subway 800 or 800 plus.

I haven’t had a chance to really crank them together yet. Eventually one will be at the practice spot and one at home. Have a gig coming up that definitely doesn’t need that much volume... but might have to try it out... for tonal purposes!
Scientific research.:smug:

Got to play that special rig again today, and sounded massive! Not as bassy as a rumble/bassman sound, I’m guessing, but great!

(Sorry for the TERRIBLE quality phone shots)

It appears to be a 4x10 svt cabinet? With a Mesa subway 800 plus head. (Not my p bass in the photo btw)

Would be very interested in comparing to a big rumble rig as well... would cost half or a quarter the price, and probably sound just or nearly as good, no problem!

Anyone else had similar experiences comparing much more expensive gear against the beloved rumble? How did it match up?

I'm trying to get some input on this as well. I feel like I am the only one who thinks it doesn't match up to high end gear on this page. I recently just had my early 70's Ampeg V4 rebuilt and it sounds beautiful. The Rumble V3-200c is no comparison. A friend of mine plays with an Acoustic 370 through an ampeg 410 and that thing is completely amazing. I swear no matter what, the rumbles just lack somewhere to my ears the second you turn them up around 12oclock, but I can't put my finger on it. Speaker? Cab construction? Amp? Don't get me wrong, it sounds good to my ears, but it can't compare to expensive gear. It may be that I love the mild breakup of a tube? I don't know. I'm not giving up on the rumble. I would just love to hear if some people updated the speakers in them, etc.

I love the sound of the Rumble series but compared to an SVT or a V4 yes they may be a little less sound/tone wise to some but the 500 combo is only half the price of a V4 head. To me that is where the value is. At 80-90% of the sound/tone (subjective) and at 50% less cost + speakers is a win for me.
I completely agree about the cost. The weight too!!! I guess what I'm looking for is what if you updated the speakers in the Rumble series? Will it take it to them "next level"? Whatever that means? ha. What about pedals? Anyone not like their Rumble until they put a pedal to it? Fuzz? Pre-amp?, etc? Maybe people who play a certain type of music don't like these? Play with a pick? Maybe I should spin it in a more positive question.

What have people done to improve their Rumbles?

I have been wondering how many Rumblers use a HPF. I posted a thread for amp advice, and a lot of people recommended a HPF for my 100c to clean it up and cut boominess. Also mesa d800+ was mentioned several times, as it has a built in variable HPF. Other themes that came up were speaker efficiency and cab simulation.

IDK if that covers the "high end vs rumble" debate here, but seems like a common recommendation for any amp to make it work and sound better.

So... any HPF + Rumble users out there????

Interesting. I noticed that the worst problem I seem to have with my Rumble is my open E and a few of the other lower notes, until I hit the A. The HPF could be a great cure for that?
