Fender Rumble Club

Well, YMMV, but I had a MIM Fender and a Rumble 500, and LOVED 'em (still do!), before getting my CIJ Fender and my MIC Fender and my Bassman 500, my Vox VX50BA, and my Rumble Studio 40, and ... and ... hmmm, I know I'm forgetting a few things? Love all them, too. Now I have absolutely NO need for a Rumble 800 HD, and all the extra cabs it would require (for me) but, guess what I currently lust after? I can only HOPE that YMMV!
Let's hope so! The new bass is just a nicety at this point IMO. The bigger amp actually seems practical, as it might open doors to new bands, venues, etc.

However, There is a gorgeous MIJ bass in my local classifieds.... oly white + tort p bass with a J neck....

Ok, back to reality! Someday.... ;)

OK, I know this isn't exactly what we're talkin' about, but: Epiphone 5 string TBird> R200c/R112, Effects send to Kasino input. Stupidly loud-as in rattle the china loud.<EDIT> nothing was above 8 o'clock gain/volume wise

Thanks Stumbo for all the info!

If I go with the “always on” HPF, can I just run it through my effects loop?
Broughton Audio Super Thread

"One place you might consider parking your HPF is in the effects loop. That’s where I have mine.

Make it the last device before it goes into the return if you already have other effects there. That way it will attenuate any excessive lows that might be coming out of anything from your instrument all the way to your preamp’s EQ before it hits your amplifier’s power stage."

Oh, and PLEASE, put your amp on a stand or use a wedge (like the adjustable [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) to disconnect from the stage and more importantly, to get the sound away from your knees and closer to your ears. Btw, the On-Stage wedge folds flat for transporting.

DO try this at home!
So what about this guy:

I’ve already got the tilt back covered.
Do you (and everyone else) think I should get an iso pad to go underneath it at gigs?
The Baby Gramma ought to fit, but I don’t want to get it if I don’t need it.

I certainly understand. In reality, when my wife was alive, we both made pretty good salaries, so there was plenty for both our expensive hobbies. She never questioned my about my music stuff and I never questioned here about the things she bought for her art projects. The funniest thing that ever happened was when I bought home a G&L SB-2T I bought through the TB classified ads. I told her I was going to sell my Am P to cover the cost. She asked if it was the one she had given me a custom pickguard for as a birthday gift. It was.
She freaked. "You can't sell that bass!, It is my favorite (I play it about once a year). In fact, don't sell any basses. Every time you do, you're sorry you did." I have, since that day, never sold another bass. That's why I have 16 basses an 7 amps.
Oh man.... I keep looking at SB-2s. I really like their tone. It’s also funny how a passive bass can have such high output pickups. Now back to your regular Rumble thread.

It is my all time favorite bass. I had one in about 20000, but had to sell it because of financial woes about 2003. This one has the tone pot which adds a lot to the tonal palette.

Due to all the recent posts and topics about High Pass Filters, I was wondering if someone could give a informative post about the 2nd Order HPF that is on the Block Diagram for the Rumbles in between the Preamp and the Power Amplifier.

I looked in the Rumble Talks and didn’t find anything that actually gave the specifics of the 2nd Order HPF in the Rumbles.

I did find some generic stuff about 2nd Order LPF and HPF filters. While interesting, it went into mathematical/theoretical stuff and did not really give much information that I found useful as a player.

So given the fact that there is a 2nd Order HPF built into the Rumble, what exactly would be the benefit, or is there one, of having an additional HPF or HPF/LPF pedal? What would having one do that the built in HPF wouldn’t do.

Hey guys,

I purchased the Fender Rumble 200 a few days ago and just tried it out with my band (loud punk, think Social Distortion meets Rancid)... and man... I could barely hear that thing. It was embarrassing. It is a great sounding amp but it seems I could only use it for low volume or PA supported situations.

I tried a HPF, getting it off the ground, etc to no avail. It just doesn’t have that oomph I’m used to (I’ve been using a borrowed GK Backline 600 up to this point with cheap-ish Ampeg cabs).

What would get me to a place where I actually have some headroom instead of having to crank that thing all the way? An extension cab? A 500 combo? Should I just go a different route altogether?

Thanks in advance.
