View attachment 3474231 HEAD CASE 'DOUBLE' STRAP CLASP FAILURE!
Yesterday, while placing the carrying strap over my head, the metal hook/clasp connecting the strap to the 500 head's soft case just failed under the weight of the head! Amp fell to the floor but was OK after checking it. I tied that strap's end to the case in a knot and carried on.
After the gig, placing the strap over my head again, guess what happened?
Yep. The other strap end's hook/clasp failed. Amp went to the floor again! Seems OK though.
I can't fathom how this occurred. Never been abused. Has been just sitting a closet for close to a year.
Has this happened to anybody else?
Beware!
Yeah, those cases are junk. All my zippers failed within 6 months.
I’m sure you could re purpose a lot of bags, cases or even briefcases. This is why I don’t use any strap or backpack options.

I am beginning to believe I dont like the horns in the rumblers. I have a 500 combo and an extra 15 cabinet.
I think I like both horns off.
Any one with experience to make them sound better?
Couldnt agree more! I've had my 500c for a week now and initially, it was a bit of a struggle to find my tone (in my head). Adjusting eq helped a bit, but I prefer to stay close to 12 o'clock on the amps eq and make minor adjustments on my bass. Was getting a little frustrated and then realized this baby has a horn. Turned said horn off. Ahhhhhh - there it is!

So here's something fun. My son and I built this bass together. Got it done this weekend. It's walnut/epoxy resin, cherry, maple built around a left handed warwick neck.
What's super fun is finding new settings and presets on my Stage 800 that sound great with this bass but not so much with my Fender and EBMM basses.
Working Man's bass, Unicorn (solo'd on the bridge pickup) are a couple new favorites.

Thanks G-Dog! One more question, if I were to run three 8 ohm cabs on it (2.66 ohms combined) should I set the switch to 2 ohm operation or leave it set on 4/8?

Thanks again!

That's probably something they would put in the owner's manual, don't you think? Hmmm, . . . now if only there was something like, oh, I don't know, a Wiki page, or something, where you could find a link to the Rumble 800 HD owner's manual. . . . hmmm . . .

Mmmmm, ... weeell, it might be somewhere on there, too. You never can tell. But sorting thru all those 6-string thingamabobs, and amps for such, they got on there. Who knows where to find the Rumble stuff on that website, huh?
