Yeah, me too. The tech I take my amps to can fix any 7ender-and most others-so any problems go to him. I can, and have, replaced speakers but when it comes to the electronics, I'm out to lunch.I wish I had an idea. So sorry about this crappie situation.
Thanks Gravedigger Dav! You know, I have never used both cabs together with a band. The guys I am rehearsing with on Sunday are LOUD! Drummer is good, but he really pounds the skins/cymbals! Oh yeah... and the guitar player uses a 100 watt Marshall head through a 4x12 cab. That has to be one awesome sounding rig.
I have tried playing without the 'vintage' on. 1 or 2 tunes and I reach back and push the button. It comes closest to giving me that 'sound in my head' I strive for in all situations. I often add the 'bright' depending on the room acoustics.View attachment 3569319
played a gig at a local campground/ resort tonight. We played in the bar/lounge tent, 3 hr set.
Experimented playing 1st half with vintage off. I found it to sound clear and a little gritty; 2nd half with vintage on sounded a little warmer and smoother. I like them both, but slightly preferred it on.
Rumble on!
I'd love to hear my Thunderbird through that. That has to be one awesome sounding rig.
Hmmm, ... well, since I recommended an Authorized Fender Repair Center for the assumed speaker replacement, one could only imagine what I might recommend for amp head repair. And still wishing you all the best.
So, what replacement speakers did you go with? And are you willing to sell the, assumedly fine, stock speakers? Or, are you considering building a cab for the stock speakers? Or going back to the stock speakers and returning the new speakers? Or, ... or, ... . . . Enquiring Rumblers want to know.
.
Good(least expensive)luck.Hahahaha , well I think I’m going to take the head to a local amp guy I use and see what he says.. I ended up with 2 eminence Delta 10-B 350w replacement speakers, which I am sending back and keeping the stock speakers. Then depending on what the amp guy says, I may go with a Ampeg portaflex 800 , a 210 cab and a 115 cab. Or if it’s an easy fix, I’ll add a rumble 115 and run with it
Or You can still make a passive cab from the combo, and get a head to drive it. There are examples in the wiki AFAIK.Hahahaha , well I think I’m going to take the head to a local amp guy I use and see what he says.. Yes. I was considering that too.. these cabs definitely have a nice sound!Or You can still make a passive cab from the combo, and get a head to drive it. There are examples in the wiki AFAIK.

That speaker model looks like a good one to me, from what little I know. Mind if I ask how you came to that choice? I'm interested in learning a bit. Shame you couldn't tell us how they sounded. Or, maybe you can, if your amp guy can fix the head before you send 'em back! [hint, hint]

Good choice, enjoy!I purchased my first bass amp yesterday, a Rumble 200!
I have visited my local places in search of amps, heads and cabs, and they don’t seem to have much in stock most of the time.. guess I need to just keep on it. It’s a bit of a trek for me but I’ll just keep trying. I have definitely decided that any amp head I buy will not be used lol need that warranty for problems such as this. That does suck Jen. I can tell you the Stage 800 does great with active basses. Many of my favorite presets are built around the Rumble V3 amp which I'm assuming is the 500c.
I play an '89 Power Jazz Special, an '07 EBMM Sterling HS, a Fender Deluxe American 5 and they all sound great. I have a home built bass with an active "Tone Monster" pre that also sounds great. I have played all of those through a Rumble 500 head and they sound great, not sure why they wouldn't be killer through the 500 combo.
Can you get to a retailer and play through a 500c with your bass?
Good choice, enjoy!
They’re both ported. Can anyone tell me if the Rumble 410 V3 cabs or the Bassman 410 Neo cabs are sealed and not ported?

I’ve always chosen Ampeg, up until a few years ago when I got a Rumble. The more I get to know the Rumble, the more I think they have a similar sound to Ampeg. Mesa is great, but a little too rich for my blood, lolThanks, I got my fingers crossed. I considered Mesa and Ampeg but the Rumble sounded pretty good to me and I'm a noob know nothing bass player. I figure I can't get hurt too much at $499 if I want to upgrade later.
