Fender Rumble Club

Yeah thanks Bazza for checking Linnin's chart..I would have always said 4x10" speakers (equaling 314.00 square inches) would have been a greater cone area that my 2x10" + 1x15" (equaling 333.63 square inches) combination speaker system...but there ya go...wouldn't wanna argue with the figures...err Or Linnin for that matter loll
You would expect 4x10" speakers equal 40" and 2x10" speakers plus a 1x15" speaker would equal 35" but hey I always flunked maths lolll

Perhaps the solution is to get a 4x10 Rumble cab to go with that 500c.

Then again the 2x10 and the 4x10 are the same price, so there must be a drawback or trade off somewhere...

Yea I never got why they are the same price?
But the more I look at all of it it seems like the R500 is the way to go and would be good for probably 95% of most gigs and if you ever need to get louder adding a 2x10, or if they come up with one in 2020, a 2x12
I have an R100 and wonder more and more if I should’ve just gotten a R500 out of the gate.

And while we are mapping everything out, as I understand it, any combo from the R100 and up can be daisychained with any other combo and you add the watts for your total, and any cabinet can be connected to any combo from the R100 up correct?

Maybe we need someone to create a chart mapping all those numbers out as well? :D:roflmao:

Hey, jt, have you checked out the new updated version of that Rumble Summary Info chart, since I updated it a few weeks ago?

I added columns for speakers, XLR Out(s), FX Loop(s) and extension cab ohms. Obviously, those that have an FX Loop are easiest to daisychain, but the smaller combos can receive an FX Send into their instrument input, too. But, sorry, cabs can only be driven by the 200 and up, not the 100.

See the new chart and let me know if anything else would help.

Only thing I can think of Doggy is...do all Combos or cabs include the horn tweeter..maybe add that to the list..not that I wanna add to your already extensive workload. I know my Rumble 500 Combo and the Rumble 115 cab have a horn tweeter plus a switch to turn them on or off if required.
EDIT: You can even attenuate the 115 cab back -6db if needed instead of turning it off entirely.

Hey Giff I think this was originally posted by @Linnin which shows your set up is actually a bigger speaker displacement then 4x10

Yo, Bazza, do you know where or when Linnin posted that Woofer Area Chart? My humble searches have failed to find it, and I'd like to give credit where due when linking it to the Wiki. If we can't find his post, I'm gonna have link your post and you'll get the credit! ;)

Maybe it was one of his posts to the Ampeg Club.:smug:

Great idea, Giffy! Anyone else got any ideas for adding to the Rumble Summary Info chart?

Please do not credit me. Someone has done a lot of work on this. I’ll try and find where I found it.

Get a 500c. I’m a fan and user of the daisy chain, but I wouldn’t haul 2 combos to 95% of my gigs. Then get the extension cab for the other 5% (if you even need it.)

and remember, Rumbles are so affordable you can get a 100c AND a 500c for the price of just one combo or head/cab setup from some of the “other guys.”

I am completely new here but I joined the club today? I bought a new Rumble 100 after days of hunting around for used stuff where I live. I got a good deal I feel as with a discount it was close to some minty used ones I have seen. I am looking forward to trying it out tomorrow when the kids are not in bed sleeping lol.

Also side note I am learning and literally can't play a complete song just yet so this is overkill. I was given the Silvertone Bass I have, as well as small toasted 10w guitar amp that I have been using for a few months. So I had nothing into this until today, figured at least I could start with something decent.

Doesn't sound like overkill to me. My first bass was a used Silvertone, but my amp was a 400 watt Peavey which needed a truck to move it around. A year later, I traded in the Silvertone on a Fender Precision. Good choice on the Rumble 100! You'll love playing through it and it gives you room to grow and it's got enough power to play with a band.

I just went back to using a Rumble 100 again after five years of using other amps. It's the best amp I've acquired in a long time. I'm playing an Epi EB-0 through my 100

That's okay... you'll be in the thick of it pretty quickly. Just a year ago (almost to the day) I took a look at the simplest song on my friend's list of songs, daring me to learn/play bass with his guitar... "If I Fell" by the Beatles, and realized I might be able to do it. Don't know what kind of songs you like, but now we have a song list of over 85 tunes and jam every week.

Just about the time when you first start out playing the bass, it may seem like it's tough, then everything starts coming together. I've been playing bass for 51 years now, and love it. You'll do fine.
