Howdy, Craig! Welcome to TalkBass, in general, and The Fender Rumble Club, in particular.
I think the Rumble LT25 is a very
fun bass
modeling amp for a beginner looking to learn, or anyone looking for a very light practice amp that could even be used for some small acoustic gigs. As a
modeling amp, it
has built-in emulations of several different classic amps, cabs and effects, that are fun to be tweaked and recombined in various combinations for
radically different sounds! It
is not a normal type of amp with straightforward Bass, Mid, & Treble controls, like most players learn on and many use for their entire careers. See
the Rumble LT25 section of the
Rumble Club Wiki page, linked in my signature, for reviews and articles about it!
Some bass teachers may advise to get a more traditional, straightforward type of bass amp, such as the Rumble 25, or 40. Their point being that players should learn the basics of playing on basic gear before getting distracted with high tech gadgets. But, I think that's for you to decide. To help with that decision there is
the Rumble Summary Info chart on the
Rumble Wiki, which compares prices, sizes, weights, speakers and main features of all Rumble combos, amp heads and cabinets. Take a look and see what you think.
Craig, feel free to ask any questions you have here. We wanna help. And, should you get a Rumble, just post a photo of it and you'll be inducted into The Club.
Welcome, again.
