Fender Rumble Club

just called my local, Pianos n Stuff in Blawnox PA. they list the Rumble 40 on their website, been "out of stock" for the last few weeks. dude said he can't keep'em on the shelf, and they are back ordered thru Fender til sometime in Feb.

So i'm first on his call list when it arrives, 'til then it's the Acoustic AB-50. and by then I'm sure to have blown this amp budget of mine on comps, drives and envelope filters...

:meh:
against my better judgement, I went ahead and checked GC's website for the 40. sure enough they have one in stock 7mi from my house...

I'm a small biz guy myself, this is really gonna test my restraint, my scruples and my loyalty

Open box with warranty.
I've made a sample, from the DI out and mixed to a drum loop.

In this order :
Flat, flat and Eq'ed with +/-4dB @ 600hz
Vintage on, vintage on and +/-4 dB @ 750 hz
vintage on bright on, then vintage on bright +/-4db@750 hz
The para eq is not really precise when it comes to read it, and I have no idea about the applied Q, excepted it's a wide one

I like it at 0:18. Also, adding -4db is subtracting 4db??

The end results sound very nice. Thanks for sharing your process and conclusions.

I do have a question, though: Why did you choose to use white noise versus pink noise?

Given the nature of white noise, I would expect that there would be a higher accumulation of energy in the upper frequencies. Though I am not sure the outcome would be significantly different, I am wondering what the initial state would look like on the analyzer with pink noise: specifically, if the "hump" between 2K and 6K would be less pronounced.

Thanks for your comment, and you're welcome, It s nice to share ....
You're totally right about the white/pink noise thing, and in fact, you know what ?......That's pink noise that I used, but I forgot to edit my post

Well it’s been about a month since I put up my reliability poll, and responses have tapered off, so I think I’m ready to publish my “final paper.” ;)

Of the people who commented, Most of the problems were with 500 combos and heads, and one 40.

Factoring out carrot votes, we get 82.5% no problems, 17.5% problems. I honestly thought “no problems” would be higher, but maybe I’m stuck in my Rumble club bubble. It’s also a pretty small sample...

Hi all
New here so apologise if daft question. I have my eyes on a rumble 800 stage but is it possible to turn this amp
Low enough to practice at home as well?
Yeah, I practice with my 800 on the lowest possible volume and I haven’t had any complaints from the neighbours.....yet!
My upstairs neighbour sometimes plays their sound system much too loud. The Stage 800 with 15” extension cab takes care of that usually.

Just had a poster check in on their Rumble 500; “cutting out and farting” fixed with a simple DeoxIT spray!

Diagnosis credit: @Giffro :D

well I’ve only had my R100 for about 5 weeks or so I think and it has performed perfectly with zero issues and you can add that to your data!
