Fender Rumble Club

I just bought my first proper amp today, the 500 watt V3 Combo. I had been using the Rumble 15 watt for practice. I don’t play out but I hope to one day. I wanted to be prepared if the opportunity presents. After reading many reviews and posts here on TB I chose the Rumble.

Well, Delta Lady, you've certainly spanned the Rumbles from 15 to 500! Good for you.

How about showing us a pic of your Rumbles? We'd be happy to award you a Rumble Club member number!

Anyone run one of these with your Rumble rig? Wow! I have the 500 head with R410 and 115 cabs. Unbelievable power and tone! Plus, you have the option to run your signal to FOH. View attachment 3724483
I use a VT Bass pedal with my rig, but it's not the Deluxe. One day I'd love to upgrade to that one though because having presets would be amazing.

Cool, Ms. Tango! A vintage, looks like V1, Rumble 15 and a V3 R500c! Definitely spanning the size, power and history of the Rumbles! @DeltaTango, you are now member #1189 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Feel free to ask & answer questions, join random discussions and browse the Rumble Club Wiki page linked in my signature, especially the Rumble Club TONE Pool of settings to try.

And please tell us more of your Rumble journey! How'd you get your Rumble 15? How long ago? What's your favorite music type. And other stuff I can't remember to ask right now. But, always remember to . . . .

Some guys like the VT better because it has a "blend" and a "character" knob. I guess that's a valid point. I never played through one. I just know that I'm completely happy with the Deluxe. And yeah, it's nice to have the presets and 2 inputs. I have 2 basses running through it. One at standard tuning and the other tuned down a half step; each with their own presets. Tech 21 makes great stuff!

Hey GP, have you experienced any/much feedback with that (semi) hollow body, or are your SPLs low enough at those smaller gigs that it isn't ever a problem?
No. And probably. The gigs I use the Ibby on are always low volume. In the concert band, I'm replacing a UB. For the "jazz-ish" gigs, they're small rooms. Volume on the bass is full, but the amp is less than 1/2-and I'm directly in front of it(less than 3').

So, Wednesday was our guitarist’s farewell party before they move back to the US to be closer to grandkids. The stage was elevated about 2 1/2’ up, relatively live plywood floor totally open underneath. Designed as a flamenco dance stage to enhance the stomping sound of the dancers. I put my R200cV3 on dense rubber strips (the edge strips from slot together athletic mat kits). That helped reduce booming, guitarist on other side of the stage still complained all he heard was boom. But when I tested from the floor, the 15”er was almost at chest level. It sounded sooo different than onstage a foot or so in front of it. No boom at all straight in front of the stage. The guests seemed to enjoy it all, flubs and everything- we are a garage band (Jug Band style) of friends just having fun. Guitarist gets amped up when in public and hits the strings even harder. I had to get him to retune twice in 20 minutes. I never let him play my guitars anymore....Since he is leaving, we put the word out we are looking for interested players. Hopefully we find one that can follow a beat or at least come back to it when they err, and not add or subtract the random half bar without noticing? Great guy and will miss rowing, motorcycling, etc with him. But I feel I am ready for a step up in musical technique. rant over
I thought the Rumble sounded great and got several complements on the tone- even used the POG on a couple songs. Standing a foot or so in front of it, I swear it was fluttering my pant legs.

I'd like to join the club, pictured is my R25. It's been my beginner amp since I started to play bass two years ago. I've only played at home but now I'm itching to get out of the house and start to gig. I'm trying to form an acoustic trio, myself and two guitars, and will soon be picking up an R100. Time to Rumble on!
