Fender Rumble Club

So with all the debate, well some debate, for those of you that often go to a PA, and own a Rumble, do you get yourself a separate DI box?

No, I use a pretty strong signal for sound check, preferably with our rockinest, loudest, most distortion laden song, then back off the volume a bit on my bass for the first set. If, though rarely, I have to change stage volume I do it on the bass. The soundman has never had a problem.

Had the rumble 800 Stage at my house for over a week, two neighbors complained, got rid of many pedals, mission accomplished, I am sixteen again.

Brought the 500 on safari over the weekend. Two guitar players, two mics into an acoustic amp, haha, and two ladies singing. The new Ray 4 is taking some time to dial in, not sure if that’s the bass, or the bass plus the amp, but I was doing a lot of twiddling. It pains me to admit it - because I love the feel of that Ray - but my Jazz just slid right in there.

Anyway those ladies slayed us with their harmonies on Tennessee Whisky and Angel from Montgomery, among others, and then myself and the drummer joined them at the end of the night for a four-part More Than Words. Most fun I ever had singing.

That's a beautiful setup, there, Thommy! @Thom Fioriglio, you are now member #1191 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations, and please keep us updated with your future Rumblings. I just now found your thread about upgrading from the Rumble 100 and I'm curious to see if the 200 continues to be enough amp for you. Yes, the debate between the 200 being enough or the 500 being too much is alive and well here in The Club, too!

In case you haven't found it yet, Fiori, check out the Rumble Club Wiki page, linked in my signature, especially the TONE Pool listing of settings to try out! Also, the Rumble Talks section is chock full of tips about how to adjust your Rumble to get the most out of it. Just let us know any questions you may have. And then . . . .

Rumble On!

Thanks all. Happy to join. The info from the Rumble Wiki page is awesome. The TONE Pool is worth the visit! I was getting a little frustrated earlier in the day trying to find the right tone. I checked out the TONE Pool, printed it, and have been trying different settings. WOW! What a difference. Great job to all who contributed.

Thom

Aloha, Divy, buddy. OooOoo, I love that rig of yours! Geddy? @Diver, you are now member #1192 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome to The Club. Make yourself at home. You've got the right idea, there.

And then we must . . . .

Hi! Just discovered this forum! Full of great tips and info.

Got a Rumble 100 a few months ago as my first bass amp! Really amazing amp for the money. But a bit loud for the house...;) I just play for the fun of it.

I think I will try the lining and braces mod, sometimes the amp ( and house) resonate when I play.

On a side note, I tried a lap steel with the R100 and was amazingly surprised how good it sounded!

Then get a 40 for home practice. The TB Fender Rumble Club Standards and Procedures Committee has approved the ownership of multiple Rumble amps and cabs.

Welcome, yul! Do I detect that you've found the Rumble Club Wiki page, linked in my signature? Particularly the Rumble Modifications section there can give you ideas and help guide you. Warning: Any non-reversible mods may void your Rumble's warranty!

Show us a pic of your Rumble and get a Club membership number. ;)

Not only approved, but encouraged!

So we had to give in to the 'G.A.S. Lobby' on that one?

Well, since most TB members are in the G.A.S. Lobby, not to mention most Rumble Club members as well, it was more a natural reflex than a giving in. :smug:

The GAS Lobby was instrumental in pushing through the Multiple Rumbles Rule.

Very smooth, Gravy Davy, yes, very smooth. Nice. Elegantly understated. Subtle, even. That's why I gotta make a big thing outta it, so everbody knows! :woot: Otherwise some o' us coulda missed it.
