Fender Rumble Club

Hey Club members quick question. Now that I have the Rumble 500c, I want to get another rumble amp since the 500 is my only amp now. I just got rid of my Rumble 100 to help fund the 500c. When the time comes, I will be gigging the 500 with bands that have drums. Will the Rumble 40 be enough volume for an acoustic trio with 2 guitars and bass? Maybe a cajon? Will will have a PA. Thanks!
Asking from a genuine position of ignorance: other than portability/weight, is there any reason to not use a 500c (or in my case a Stage 800) with the volume turned down for a smaller setting vs. a more “appropriately-sized” (in this case Rumble 40w) amp?

I am not an engineer by any stretch of the imagination, but my understanding is that Class-D amplifiers are not as susceptible to power/heat consumption/dissipation issues from running at lower input/output levels as are other amp classes. I would think if it were a problem, it would also be a problem running for significant periods through the USB output (or the headphones output) with the Master volume turned all the way down; which I do nearly all the time at home. You could consider not using an external cabinet if the volume is not required for the venue; but, I actually like having the additional headroom on the amp. So, I run at lower volumes all the time, both at home and on the road. I have had my Rumble Stage 800 for about a year and a half, and haven't had any problems.

I could bring my 500 to cover the acoustic gigs, but I really just want another rumble combo just in case.

Having a backup makes perfect sense, and portability is really nice, too. Any excuse to get another Rumble is a good excuse!
Excuse or reason? Hmm.

Can anyone provide info on the USB output on a Stage 800?
Is it stereo?
Do I need the download if I run it into a Focusrite Scarlett USB input?

Yes, it is stereo. The bottom several items in the Stage & Studio Links section of the Rumble Club Wiki page should be helpful to you. And you may find posting such tech questions to the LT25, Studio & Stage Sub-Thread more productive.

But, please do, by all means, post a pick of your Rumble here to get a Club membership number.

Hey Group! I'm excited to let you all know that I just add in another 115 cab with the 800HD and it's a beast of a rig! Wow! I also have a 500c that I occasionally pair with a 115 cab for medium/large gigs but the 2 x 115 and 800HD is my go to rig at the moment.

Wow! That's. Outstanding, liney! And so flexible! @line6bassist, you are now member #1265 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. 'Bout time we see your rig, since you've just been teasing us with verbal descriptions. ;) You've been here a while so I don't suppose I need to refer you to the Rumble Club Wiki page for all manner of Rumble info, but others reading this may need the reference.

So good to have you officially join us, liney. Please continue to wow us with your Rumble escapes and other Rumblings. Because, you know, we all love to ... . . .

Nice rig! Looks like you sort of followed the same path I did. I had a R200C first and liked the sound, so bought a R115 cab to go with it. Really liked the sound of the cab, so ended up buying a second R115 cab so I would have a pair to use with other heads. I use the R115's at gigs a lot, usually with the Quilter head. They are light to carry, loud with great tone, and don't cost an arm and a leg so I don't worry as much taking them places. Here is a pic of some of the gear including the 2 R115's and the R200C (on the left, on its side).

Thanks G-Dog for my Club number and all you do for the club. As you can see I definitely been stalking the club for awhile and got some great support and ideas from many of the members. Can't wait to post gig pictures soon.

Love it!! Nice gear setup! I definitely wanted a rig to gig with and this fender lineup has definitely lived up to its expectations.
