Fender Rumble Club

You mean it has a function besides that?!? (Kidding. I've never played a 5-string.)
I bought mine 'cos I wanted a 5er, it hadda be a Gibson, and I found a rarity at a decent price. It's my least played bass and I generally only use Eb and D on it. But it does sound amazing. I really oughta use it more. Then again, we oughta have more gigs for me to use it on. Here 'tis:

Yeah, that's the one. Skimpy stock as of Sat. 3/20. 5 or 6 7enders, 1 Ibanez.
I'm about mid-way between the WPB and Port St. Lousy stores.

I'm about half way between Delray, and Coconut Creek GC's. Sam Ash Margate is just a few more miles south of the GC CC store. They held the gun to head to buy at SA Margate.

... ... My rumble 500 with 2x 115s and my “Fenderish” Jazz V. (Originally a fender jazz v but a lot of it, including the neck, has been replaced, like a Bass of Theseus)

Welcome back, Rumbler #680! It's been a few years since you dropped by! I had to look you up 'cause I thought you looked familiar, but no Rumble number in your TB Signature. ;)

Man, that is certainly a gorgeous rig. Mmmm, hmmm ... R500h with 2x115s! That has got to punch. And I love the color of that Jazz V. Rumble On wit' yo' bad self!

I rehearsed with a big band in Margate for awhile in the early 2000's. Often swung by the SA store just to see what they had. Bought a mint condition Kustom 150 R&P bass amp there. Worked and sounded great; weighed a ton. Switched over to a Rumble 200c and sold the Kustom(w/ original cover)to a guy who couldn't believe how good a shape it was in.
The SA was not the friendliest place I've ever dealt with, but Dennis S. was decent to me so no real complaints.

I got a CoffinTM case for my 67 NR TBird from SA online. Good price and no hassle. 'Course I didn't hafta deal with anyone in person either.
I'm considering(thinking about?)getting a second R100 to be able to daisy chain with my current one. Just for S&G, I looked up "used R100's". There are a few listed for as much or more than new would cost from SA, GC, SW, MF, etc., PLUS SHIPPING. Nope.

Yep. 'Course we get stuck with sales tax. Oh, well, gotta keep the governor fed.;)

It used to be, there was no sales tax for online orders, unless there was a retail location also in the state you were ordering from. That may not fly any longer. The last Sweetwater online order I did was an Epi EB-3 case for the EB-0, without any sales tax through them in Indiana.

What are the pros and cons of leaving the feet on your Rumble combo when stacking it on the matching extension cab? I've asked a similar question before here, so please forgive me but I'm still confused. I took the feet off my combo to set it on the cab, but I see other people's setup where the feet are still on. Is there a right or wrong way? Will the two cabs successfully couple regardless of whether the feet are on or off on the combo? I like the idea of the combo and cab making contact with each other with no space..

That's the Stage 800 on top of the 2x10 extension. I love my old rig but with the Ampeg cab weighing around 150lbs, I'm not carrying it out of the rehearsal room.

I have the studio 40 and it became my favorite amp to play on. So I upgraded to this set up. Light weight and I can assign presets to fit the covers my band plays.

I noticed the DI in the 40 sounds just like it does coming out of the speakers. This is not always the case with every amp I have played.

Life got simplified!

The feet do not line up with the divots on the extension cabinet. The rubber Hopefully will keep it from sliding off. The 800 head will lock in to these divots.

Hey everyone - just joined the 500 Rumble club! Bought it brand new in the box at GC last weekend - am really enjoying it. Replacing my Ampeg BA 2-10, which BTW, I have no complaints about it - just trying to go a bit lighter in my older age. Bought a small, compact dolly which raises it about 3" off the ground - really looks cool, but sounds even better a bit raised. Really enjoying the Vintage knob, really helps to tame my Ibby SR 800, which is hot, especially with the Bart pups. I use DA XL 170's, so yeah, helps with the higher end as well. Also have a P-Bass special which sounds really nice and minty as well. Glad I joined the club!!

We're glad to have you, Benjy! Man, I'd sure love some binge-jammimin'! It'd sure beat binge-TV. :roflmao:

Can I assume you got the Rumble 500 combo, to replace the other combo? I've got a 7-year-old R500c, still going strong.

Hey, let's make your membership official. While you post a pic of your Rumble, I'll process your application personally and even make sure they waive all fees & dues for ya. ;)

Pre-COVID, I used to go to SA Margate a lot. I’ve bought a fair amount of gear from them, both new and used. They cut me a great deal on my Ibanez 500FL fretless, including the original hard case. Bought my Rumble 40 new from them (Dennis helped me then, too), and my divorce-present white MIM Strat back in 1999.

I’ve had a great experience buying used from the SA site, too. Got my Höfner Ikon shipped to me from the store near my old stomping grounds in Carle Place, NY. They communicated with me verbally very well, and sent me a used one that was set up wonderfully, packed in enough bubble wrap to fill the lightweight hard case, wrapped THAT in bubble wrap, then double-boxed it. Best customer experience in years. The bass was flawless when i received it.

If you go there before or after the over-privileged school kid rush hours, with a good idea of what you want, I find them easy and straightforward to deal with. I like the Miami Lakes location, too. Somewhat far away for you, though, GP.

He seems to be getting bigger all the time, doesn’t he? ;)
