Fender Rumble Club

IDK 'bout your GC, but the nearest one to me (WPB, FL)looked like someone had backed up a truck and cleaned 'em out.
We are a bit remote, The nearest GC to me is 2.5 hours away so I don't go much. I've been looking at online and store stock via internet. Plus the Fender Site Store itself is out of stock. Makes me wonder what is going on.

A recent acquisition and really enjoying it. I'm fairly new to bass and brand new to 5-string. I'm still getting lost occasionally but having fun with it. Tone and "punch" are really amazing. I think I'll keep her.,.

I've come to love 5 string. Just being able to plug in 1 bass, put it in standard tuning and know I can cover 99.9% of whatever I'll need to is awesome. Plus what's better then bass? More bass. It might just be a few extra notes but you can really feel them when you up the volume. The Ray5 is a great bass for the money. And I say that as someone who owns one with a preamp that's somehow on it's 3rd life while the replacement is sitting in a box. It showed up wonky, EBMM sent a replacement, it worked flawlessly for a while, died recently, and last time I plugged it in was working better than ever.

Seeing as I'm not gigging it I'm going to see how long it takes one of us to give in. Either the preamp is going to die and stay dead, or I'm going to cave and replace it.

Huh. This made me curious so I'm checking out Long and McQuade's stock here in Canada. They have a used option listed for almost every Rumble, and store stock seems to be scattered about for the various new ones. No covers available online, too lazy to check dates.

Online in stock: 210, 800h, Stage 800, 200c, Studio 40, 15

They have some estimated dates that they'll be restocked, so it sounds like it's just a shortage. Which is pretty typical across the economy right now. The global economy and supply chain is a disaster, and that was before the Ever Given got stuck and racked up over $40B in delays. Lumber? Shortage. Metals? Shortage. Labour? Shortage. Shipping capacity? Shortage. Plenty of oil for plastics though. Anyway the ones they have dates for are:

40 - June 14th
100 - April 22nd
25 - within 15 business days
410 - August 30th
LT25 - June 14th

No date: black 210, 500c, 115

If I were to put on my tinfoil hat I'd say Fender is updating the 500c and the 115. The 410 may also have a redesign or might be on the chopping block, hence the latest date of the bunch. This feels pretty out there though, as it'd have to line up with them wanting to 1 up Ampeg's new amps, have been aiming for the summer to coincide with increased demand from summer gigs but yet still have some restock dates well into gigging season for some reason. Just don't feel right.

Right?
And whats better than a 5 string?
A 6 string fretless.

Fight me! Haha

[squeel] ... [static] ... [zzzzt] ... My tinfoil hat has trouble getting good reception out here in the sticks. ... Ah! Here's something: the Rumble V1 line was produced for 7 years, 2003-2010; V2 only 4 years, 2010-2014; and it's now been 7 years for the V3, 2014-Current. Each was introduced at Winter NAMM in January. But that doesn't completely rule out a Summer NAMM introduction, especially since this last Winter NAMM was such a nothing-burger.

However, 2020 has been a banner year for most musical instrument vendors, so why change things now? Ampeg's new Rocket Bass amps, though, are really just now catching up to Fender's lightweight Rumble line, since new owner Yamaha took over. Over the last few years there have been some changes to the Rumble line, with discontinuation of the 112 cab and the 200 & 500 heads and addition of the 800 head and LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800. Perhaps a new 115 cab, with higher wattage rating & smaller box to match the 210, would be a big marketing improvement!

And, of course, many here in The Club have longed for a lightweight 212 cab, a Club 400 combo, and/or a Stage 800 head. Hey, anything's possible! ... [zzzzt] ... [squeel] ... Over and out...

I'd love to see some new Rumble stuff come out this summer. It would also be pretty great to see Ampeg finally catch up(ish) only to have Fender take another leap ahead. When corporations play leap frog it's us consumers who win after all!

I just don't really see the formula getting shaken up. They're still leading in watts/$, still the best looking (IMO) line of amps, they still sell well, and I don't think there's been any big shifts in technology or construction that would allow for much if any weight/cost savings. There's a reason the new Ampegs look like the Rumbles on paper.

The exception here is the 115. It's basically mandatory now that they put in a speaker that can handle the only Rumble head on sale. It'd also be nice to see it shrunk down but it's hard to say if Fender would actually do that. They matched it to the 410 I'm assuming so that the 410 would stack on it, and so that it had something to naturally pair with. The 210 at release had the 112 after all so it kind of makes sense. Now, not so much. Especially with how much the 500c and 210 cabs have outsold the 410s.

Who knows, maybe Summer NAMM will prove very exciting for us Rumblers!:hyper:

Everything's relative. In FL, gigging season is Nov.-May. When northerners/Canadians come south.

My rumble 500 with 2x 115s and my “Fenderish” Jazz V. (Originally a fender jazz v but a lot of it, including the neck, has been replaced, like a Bass of Theseus)

Does it work? D'you like it? Nuff said.

I think I want to replace the pickups with something hotter and/or add a preamp. Otherwise I like it a lot. It's the bass that I've used to practice all my setup, routing, electronic, and finishing skills. I have the original neck still, it no longer has frets.

It's tuned to D standard.

Hey everyone - just joined the 500 Rumble club! Bought it brand new in the box at GC last weekend - am really enjoying it. Replacing my Ampeg BA 2-10, which BTW, I have no complaints about it - just trying to go a bit lighter in my older age. Bought a small, compact dolly which raises it about 3" off the ground - really looks cool, but sounds even better a bit raised. Really enjoying the Vintage knob, really helps to tame my Ibby SR 800, which is hot, especially with the Bart pups. I use DA XL 170's, so yeah, helps with the higher end as well. Also have a P-Bass special which sounds really nice and minty as well. Glad I joined the club!!
