Fender Rumble Club

.
Well, Yamaha has finally gotten Ampeg into competition with the Fender Rumbles with their new Rocket Bass line! And, on paper, it looks pretty close. It only took 'em 7 years to catch up. The RB-115 even looks 1/2 lb. lighter and just $30 more. But the RB-112 is almost 4 lb.s heavier and is $100 more! Plus, all the Ampegs are just 3-band EQ to Fenders 4-band for the 40 & up.

Any thoughts on why the 112 is $100 more than the Rumble 100? All the others are priced fairly close to their Rumble equivalents.

o, mr. ears! Or is it mr. years? Yes, of course a matching 210 cab for the R500c is part vanity, but only a very small part if you need the extra functionality. And, if you've got a shot at a bargain price for one in good shape, it'd be a shame to pass it by.

For me, the R500c was enough, even for my loud country cover band, much better than my Bassman 250 combo had been! I added my Bassman neo 115 for some outdoor gigs and found, to my disappointment, that it wasn't necessary for my situation. Just being raised closer to my ears, atop the 115, was enough. So, I still don't have a 210 cab, though I lust for one. An amp stand sufficeth me.

thanks man, that is helpful and makes sense. We do play alternative rock but so far small venues. I might hold off for a bit try my 500 combo set up with prepamp and assess after a gig, if I need another 210.....

then again, I might just go for it......who wants to lend me £200?

I am hearing the sounds of silence...;).

I know I can daisy chain them but I'm wondering if there's a way to just use the 10 inch speaker in my R40 as an extension speaker for my R200?
I know I could wire a 1/4 inch jack on the back of the cab and wire it to the speaker but would that damage the amp even if it's off? Would putting some sort of switch between the amp and speaker be required? Just wondering, probably never need it but I'm thinking a 10 on top of a 15 would sound pretty great.

Yes, you could damage both amps, even if one is turned off!!! cb, you would need to modify your R40 to allow use of its speaker as an extension cab, something like the "separating a combo's amp & speaker" links in the Rumble Modifications section of our Rumble Club Wiki page.

However, even after that mod, you could still damage the R40 speaker if it should see more than 40 watts continuous. Your R200 could put up to 100 watts into it, thus releasing the magic smoke!! :(

The daisy chain would certainly be the cheaper and safer route.

I've daisy chained amps before. 2 hartke 12 combos. Sounded great. I was told to make sure both amps were on the same circuit and use an AB box input for the bass and two outputs one each going to the input of each combo.
Mentioned b4, but what the hey. I've daisy chained 2 100's(not mine), 100>200c and 200c>100(Mine, this time), and-while I had it-run my 200c into a 112 cab[stacked]. With the 15 of the 200c up closer to my ears and the full 200W through a 15 and a 12, the sound was fuller and absolutely glorious. There just weren't enuff occasions to warrant taking both. Someone was kinda desperate for a 112 cab and, since I was able to recoup my investment, I sold the 112. The 200c stays. Up on a stand.

20G,
MDB covers is now on Reverb. The covers are very well made and reasonable. Way nicer than the cheap plastic covers from Fender. The downside is this vendor is not great at timely communications. I think I was about to give up after 4 weeks of silence and the cover showed up, and was a perfect fit. At the time it was not in their listings and they added it after I inquired, at no additional charge.

I reached out to them last week for info on covers for a "new" Fender Super Champ X2 head and cab I bought, still waiting... Btw - this Super Champ is a beast, I traded in my HR Deluxe and not looking back. It's the updated stepchild between a Blues Jr. and the HR Deluxe (15w of awesome tube tone).

The Rumble arrived a few weeks ago. I am happier than a pig in slop. I was playing it for the first time with my bass and I'm loving what I hear! I'm glad I finally got it.
